As a Chinese in America I wanted to try a commoner dish, something like our rice stew with ginger and chickens so I asked locals

Apparently such an enjoyable comfort food is tomato sauce noodles with meat. To be unpretentious and legitimate I bought a common jarred sauce, prego. First is the noodles, all the shapes amazed me but this one was particularly effective. The sauce tastes robust, of stewed tomatoes and herbs, amazing....I put in ground turkey meat with some Italian sausage and it was very good with the sauce. This is a very flavorful dish

Jarred sauces and frozen vegetables are the essential American peasant fare. Easy to add cheap proteins like chicken, pork, sausage, or tinned fish. Bacon is very common on American tables since it's cheap and adds a ton of smoky flavor to any dish.

Add extra virgin olive to pan
Add minced garlic and chili flakes
saute until aromatic
Add 1 cup of tomato puree
Add cracked pepper
Simmer for 5 minutes.

Use the salted pasta water to thicken and season the sauce at the end.

Try that one out.

Next time use Radiatori and ground beef

Salt pepper and dried onions into the beef while you brown it

Nah we're still 75% white they just want to demoralize us with propaganda everything is still good here. I just made Italian bread, I'll be making pretzels later, my neighbor is making bagels. I lost my job and got a new one in a week. life is good.

Depends on where you are. Near me it's basically 100% white, you may see some Mexicans a couple towns over. I went to the grocery store the other day after thinking about it, and couldn't find a single non-white of any kind.

Bro, if you like congee then you have to try the American classic comfort dish "Shrimp and Grits". It's traditional in the deep south, specifically in Louisiana Cajun culture.
The "grits" are a porridge of coarse ground nixtamalized maize with butter and cheese, and the shrimp are cooked with Cajun spices and aromatic vegetables.
