So what’s the deal, why bother? Some sort of PR strategy? A second cousin that needed a career path?
Or is he just jizzing in the mayo?

Get your head out of your ass. Tallow is far superior for frying compared to canola or soybean oil. McDonald's used tallow up until the 90s for their fries, and they were never the same again after the switch.

Seems like a nice menu to me. Pretty much what you'd expect for a diner that is going for an oldschool aesthetic.
Were the rest of expecting the usual fusion-style stuff? The Asian, Mexican, and so on stuff? I like that stuff fine but not every restaurant needs it.

Pretty much this IMO, trying to make the prospect of sitting around for hours while your car charges seem attractive. They chose a pretty strategic location for it too, both high visibility and surrounded by a shitload of people who've got the money to buy a Tesla but nowhere to charge it. (Tons of luxury apartments with shared parking garages, and despite costing millions a lot of houses in that area either don't have garages or have ones that aren't practical to charge inside.)

Tesla is REALLY trying to rebrand it's image since doofus alienated two huge cohorts with his flailing in politics. This is probably an attempt to make the brand see more humble and tie it to 'Americana', something that plays well to both sides of the political spectrum. It also lets them try and build a sort of social network within the Tesla eco-system. You go to the diner with other tesla drivers and charge your car, suddenly your part of a community. Other luxury brands really try to push this whole 'owner community' thing so you're more likely to keep buying and become a captive consumer.

The problem of course is if people want parasocial bullshit they can just go online so only boomers fall for this kind of shit with any kind of regularity.

>>21483685
Menu looks fine, but how come I can't get Epic Bacon on my Tesla Burger? Why is only regular bacon available? Do I need to buy a model S to get Epic Bacon instead of bacon? Will the Epic Bacon add on be +5 dollars instead of +3?

Also, what's in the electric sauce?

Or you know, targetting a captive audience that is sitting around charging cars. Starting with reasonable (for restaurant) prices to gain customers.

Fortunately I can recharge my real truck at any one of millions of gas stations, in less time than it would take you to be seated at Le Tesla Diner. I'd still visit, though, just to roll coal in the parking lot while eating my Epic Bacon burger and blasting classic Skynyrd.
