Based Trump is encouraging Americans to go vegetarian by jacking up beef prices. Almost $10 a pound. Meanwhile tofu is less than $2.

It's because of the 50% tariff on Brazil. Most of the goyslop beef on your burgers comes from there. American farmers cannot supply the domestic market alone, there's a big shortfall.

And it is doubtful Australia or Argentina will be able to plug in the gap. These countries already have their own markets to supply (like the EU or Japan which tend to pay premium), they can redirect a bit from China from the medium range cuts but still expect beef prices in America to rise.

I thought they could but they make more money selling gin-you-wine merkin beef to foreign markets than they would selling it domestically.

Aren't both illegal in American cattle production?

I'm glad I stocked up when I did. We don't really eat beef much but I caught a good sale a few weeks ago and decided to take advantage of it. We do eat tofu as well, though. I get that shit for 50ยข or less per pound of organic, superfirm (IE firmer than extra firm), high protein stuff. But most of our protein is seafood, eggs, pork and homemade cheese.

Nice try shill, the reality is beef prices are high because a large portion of the world's cattle are currently infected by the screw worm parasite, making their meat unsafe to eat, significantly reducing the supply of beef, which raises prices. Trump's fixing your masters' mess.

Yes, I mean, overtime they could switch their production but it takes a lot of time (different types of cattle) and they would make less money. American ranchers are also struggling with the screw worm infection due to imported Mexican cattle.

In the short term there will be a shortfall.
