I like a lot of ice with my drinks. Keeps them at the perfect 33°F drinking temperature, and slowly melts diluting the drink over 20 minutes.
In Europe I always had to be asking for more and more ice, they just didn't get it.

My dad taught me to always order coke without the ice at McDonald's, he considered it an American scam. And he was kinda right because you used to get more Coke by ordering it without ice.

Eventually McDonald's in my country wisened up and now they don't top up your cup if you order without ice, so the amount of soda you get is the same regardless.
