a bunch of fast food chains are opening stores in Australia over the next couple of years, it will be great to have some more variety rather than just kfc mcdonalds and burger king.

What's the point? They'll all be stupidly expensive.
5 guys in Melbourne the burgers start at $18, plus $7 for chips.

Carls jr was inferior to Hungry Jacks, but HJs keep cheapening the ingredients to the point that even a whopper makes me feel sick. Maybe that's just from jeets handling the raw ingredients.

No, you're right, it's the ingredients. The last time I had a whopper I thought I was going to puke as well. Something about it just tasted... off. Like the mayo was made from something that mayo isn't supposed to be made of.

Last time I was in Australia, I used to get coffee and sometimes a breakfast wrap at the Hungry Jack's near my hotel. I'd usually get there just before opening time. One day I saw a truck delivering burger buns, they left the rack of buns outside the store and drove off. Then a flock of Crows appeared and landed on the rack and started tearing open the bags and eating the buns. It happened so quickly it must be a regular occurrence. I watched in disgust as they feasted for a good five minutes before an (Indian) staff member came out and collected the buns. Stomping all over the buns with their gross little crow feet.
They didn't even toss any of the buns away, they just shooed away the crows and wheeled it into the store.
Haven't eaten at HJ ever since.

The way it works is that our government charges out the arse for particular certifications when it comes to serving food to the public
If you're actually cooking burgers and meat on the premises then it requires a higher tier of certification that is way more expensive (and requires more safety checks) than just serving baked products or boiling hot dogs
The owners of Wendy's didn't want to pay more money to our nanny state so they're stuck serving ice creams, milkshakes, donuts and hot dogs

They're running into a house fire.
Australian fast food chains are all dying because consumers are now too poor, wholesale food prices and particularly refrigeration costs are too high, speculation on land has made commercial leases untenable and unmet housing pressure is fucking up zoning.

Many of these franchise operators are losing money, and the corporate businesses only survive because franchise holders keep buying in and crashing out, these corporates are really just the title holders of land banks.

The anti competitive behaviour comes from supermarket lobbying, the big supermarkets are muscling into ready to eat food like in Europe.
Soon wholefoods will no longer be available in supermarkets and you'll have to buy ready to eat. In the process bankrupting restaurants and cafes, independent, non corporate fast food.

The most overrated fast food burger chain, expensive, food quality is trash and riding their name from the 80s (when they were a step above)

I hear australians love binge drinking. Thats good, youll need a handful of drinks before any of these are palatable.

Chuck E Cheese removed the kids play place. No more ball pits, no more sky tubes.
They also removed all the animatronics, so no more live concerts.

Its a mediocre arcade that now has a "dance floor" for kids to play on.
