You should probably do a little etymology education before getting on the internet looking like a moron. Old English, corn was used to describe anything that was small and coarse, like a kernel of the crop. Sea salt, and rock salt was called... salt corn or corn salt for a very very long time. It's where the damned crop gets its name from.
