I don't usually use a peeler, I use a pickerel. Works perfectly for things with thin skin like carrots and potatoes, which is 95% of my peeling needs. With apples and suchnot I do need to use a peeler

My peel level is absolute garbage. I just cut an apple into quarters and remove the core and seeds.

You do understand that green scotch-brite is an abrasive right? Its embedded with Aluminum Oxide, the same stuff in sandpaper and grinding wheels, which is inedible and incredibly hard. You dont want to eat it all or, and especially dont want it coming anywhere near your teeth. It leaves scratch marks on stainless steel for a reason.

Scotch Brite sells the "no scratch" blue pads which have no abrasive. Use blue not green on food. Thoroughly rinse any utensil after using green.

This took twice as long as a peeler and wasted more of the flesh.

wait are you honestly saying that if I use a green scotchie to abrade my carrots I'm poisoning myself? I do this under running water and wash the carrot or potate thoroughly before I make it into food. should I really buy the blue ones for this purpose??
