What else can I put in here next time?
Any particular veggies you'd add to this?
How do you usually make use of your steam basket?

Interesting, I recently learned what these were called in Japanese through a vtuber, ใกใ‚‡ใ†ใตใ‚“, I didn't know they were called cheung fun.

I don't understand what any of this means. Wyy do you need a 'springform pan's bottom' and what is that?

you need a plate of some sort because the batter is very liquid so it'll just leak through the steamer bottom otherwise
There are some specialty steamers and accessories for this but I don't have one

I have the bamboo ones but they're for backup when I'm steaming many different things with different cook times.
If I'm steaming just 1 thing then I just use (this exact model) steamer pot. It doubles as a normal pot, the basket fits way more, and it's a simple dishwasher cleaning instead of handwash and 2 days air dry every time you use it. Plus the basket doubles as a strainer for pasta

Since we're on topic, how come it stinks so horrible whenever I use it? The boiling water on the pan also starts to take on a yellow tinge, is that normal?

Check your kitchen for any stray chinamen. They might be sneaking piss into your setup for extra flavor

If it stinks then it got put away humid and/or unwashed. Best to toss them and get new ones. If that's your photo then boiling the bottom tier will leave it much more waterlogged. Usually these need at least a couple of days, but if you're boiling the bottom then it'll need way longer, which means it spends days and days being wet so bacteria readily grow there. And they need to be lightly scrubbed with a soaped up brush immediately after use because the food will migrate into the bamboo and instantly grow microorganisms.
The yellow water is from the bamboo leeching into the water, especially if you're boiling the bottom tier. It's harmless but it does alter food flavor. Some argue it's an enhancement, and I agree for certain things. But it's not something you want on everything else. This is minimized by not boiling the bottom tier, only having them over steam when needed, and drying them out completely after the last use.

This is why I just use the metal steamer pot and only use these for backup. I've had mine for 3 years and they're fucked up in other ways, but they don't smell.

I mean it stinks when I use it. The steam that arises from it has an unpleasant, almost toxic smelling odour. I've used it three times over a period of 4-5 days I think and I've clearned it too, so surely it's not that.
Maybe it's not really bamboo, but I shudder to think about thatl

I hope you're wrong, the store I bought it from is the most well-known and reputable asian store in copenhagen (all the workers are white or speak perfect danish with no accent), so it would be weird if they sold me garbage.
Excuse me while I post more sexy ladies.

You can just make the buns and then fill them, like a sandwich
But you can also fill them with stuff and then steam them. Pork, chicken, red bean, vegetables, tofu, so many options for steamed Chinese bao

It's probably made in China
Everything they make is contaminated even food, which ends up in western health supplements and shit
