If you suck down food quickly, you might never notice that crinkles go soggy quickly but if you're a person who eats at a normal human pace, you know that they suck.
See, crinkles make more surface area. With more surface area, they cool more quickly. Double that with the fact that the crinkles trap moisture as the fries cool, turning them soggy much more quickly,
