Why does bong chocolate mog American chocolate so bad? Cadbury is so superior to Hershy they might as well be two completely different products.

Hersheys being bad is overrated, but yeah its not amazing, it's the most popular mass produced mass advertized product, so generally as with anything, that means its kinda mediocre and cuts corners to be affordable and make fatcats rich enough to have a monopoly

there are many better brands of american chocolate, but "chocolate culture" is different in the US than it is in Europe. Europeans, really love chocolate, it's like a drug to them adults sit around sucking on a piece of chocolate going "mmm, mmmmmf, o yess" while in the US, it's merely considered a candy, junk food, mostly for kids who crave sugar etc, so it's allowed to be mid and still very successful because it just isn't nearly as important, you're gonna find a lot of American "gourmands" who are super into making cheese, cuts of steak, etc, but not so much chocolate, as it's viewed simply as candy for the most part

America has like a dozen sources of chocolate and that includes Cadbury and shit. Not to mention cities have actual nice chocolateers that make EXPENSIVE as fuck stuff - but it's good. This is on top of schools selling candy and chocolate for fund raisers, and of course the infamous Girl Scout cookies.

So it's not that our chocolate is bad, it's that we have literally ALL the choice and you eurofags think we don't for some reason. Maybe it's advertising. Anyway, I can go down to the walmart and see like 6 major brands of chocolate, and there is even more online.

Don't get me started on drinking chocolate. We've got cheap shit, mexican shit, european shit... just all sorts.

He's right. Hershey is considered low tier in the states and there are plenty of regional and local chocolates that are Euro level.

Pic related is a chocolate maker name Boehms just east of Seattle before you get into the Cascade mountains. Their kulgens are my favorite but their Mt Rainier (rocky road with white chocolate tips) and Peanut Brittle are nice too.

Easy, during the depression and WW2 sweets consumption was extremely restricted but the quality if their product was unadulterated. In the US we took a different route we started substituting ingredients. An entire generation grew up eating that chocolate and the flavor became the standard and its not just a phenomena related to chocolate. One thing you'll notice is that the US is gradually rediscovering its roots. Just look at how much better beer has gotten in the states. Same will happen with (mass produced) chocolate

If people didnโ€™t eat cheese growing up it would likely be more common. Foreign tards canโ€™t comprehend that maybe they cant get an acquired taste which Americans have.

People shit on British food but they had the most developed mass-market confectionary industry by far, into the 20th century at least. If you go into a British shop, a small shop, you will have the choice of maybe 20 different chocolate bars at least. It's because Britain was the #1 importer of sugar in the world, up until the 20th century. You even get stories of 16th century people in England with teeth rotten from sugar

This scares me. If Cadbury is considered a lot better than Hershy then how bad must it be? How low can you go? Cadbury is shit-tier these days. It isn't even chocolate. It's confectionery.

The reason 'chocolate' is shit is because they try to put as much crap into it that isn't cocoa. Sugar, vegetable fats and flavourings. Cocoa is expensive so they try to bulk it out.

Some brands, notably Hershey's, use a cost-cutting measure that creates butyric acid in the milk. Most of us grow up on brands that use this process so we don't taste it as strongly. It registers as the baseline taste and "premium brands" and Euro chocolate tastes milkier/creamier.

I grew up in Bongland and the chocolate is too sweet for my liking desu. The American stuff I like better because it's not disgustingly sweetened.

It's creamy but way too sweet
I like their more premium bars, it's funny how they are never truly solid like you can run it between your fingers and sort of knead it
