You can have your baklava, I'll take gelato over it any day. Italian cuisine has so much more variation both in terms of flavour profile with dishes and also range - there's hearty stews and roasts that take the best of northern and central Europe, and of course there's pizza, pasta, etc. Sure, some snobs may argue 'b-b-but Egypt did it first', they didn't do pizza like the Italians, and pide has far less common variation of toppings.

allot of Italian food is extremely starchy. Also be honest allot of it is just pasta with different sauce. More of a personal preference on my part tho

Allot of people complain when you say you like French food, because they all at some point in life went to a ''French Restraunt'' and got micro portions of pretentious crap that cost them half the life savings

Chinese food has a shitton to it and many regional variations. I'll never eat there myself because I don't want to consume gutter oil or get disappeared for saying something bad about their leaders but the dishes themselves are fantastic. Their people can wallow in their authoritarian misery while I scavenge the parts of their cuisine that I enjoy. Japan and Italy are the only two cuisines that compare to each other in terms of quality for me. That said, so many of the highest quality products on the planet are also some of the most perishable, and it's hard to account for a country like Brazil with all of its endemic species or a country in the arctic that has access to peak condition seasonal seafood.
