Christ sake this anon speaks the truth and this knowledge is woefully under taught. Hot water heater tanks, unless well maintained and flushed, are fucking FILLED with nasty ass shit that would make your skin peel off and run away if it touched it. Cold water bypasses the tank. So when cooking try not to use already heated water since that is coming out of the tank.

No matter how hung over you are do not drink your shower water either. It isn't going to kill you but it is fucking nasty.
