>How does this work?

>It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
>There's no guarantee that what you post will catch on either.

>If the OC you are posting is YOURS for something you are personally doing, then it would go to the "How is your webcomic?" threads.
>If you just want feedback on an OC of yours, then it would go in the "donut steel" threads or drawthreads.

If the thread dies suddenly or you still want to discuss something when there's no thread:

Ninjoe Primer still in the works, i think im gonna skip a bit to minor factions because of that last sketch with the tribal militiaman.

>In the south of Go-Go's territories, often harrowing the P.E.A.K spacelaunch base are tribes of both Mutacrocs and Mutagators, two distinct races of mutant. A mutacroc is often larger and more aggresive than a mutagator, but mutagators appear to have larger numbers due to their more reserved territorial cultures. Though it is not uncommon to see tribes of Mutagators attacking another tribe of mutagators, or mutacrocs and mutagators having diplomatic relations.

>Recently a confederation of Mutacroc tribes has been waging war with tribes of Mutagators near the Space center, damaging some roads and infastructure along the way. The Reconstruction crew sometimes takes dangerous missions having to repair these roadways and such, this often leads to crewmen getting dragged off and eaten and some firearms ending up in the hands of the mutants.

If i ever make a Ninjoe comic one of the issues would involve Joe and the crew getting captured by Mutacrocs and having to ally with Mutagators to fight them off.

I was watching the mollusk tier list video and I was inspired by some that I saw for a new character concept. Not a super hero but a civilian with a power.

A cute athletic tomboy childhood friend of Jack who has the same properties as the leaf sheep slug. Basically she can ingest plants and for a while she can photosynthesize. It's incredibly awesome because you would need less food to survive and (for a person) would make it way easier to stay in shape. She'd be a case for Jack to consider going public with his power, though hers just makes her life easier. It wouldn't put in question the validity of her accomplishments.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Costasiella_kuroshimae

Also the colors of the pics I found online of leaf slugs/sea sheeps are great.

Appearance wise, she could also like a human version of the land form of the Shaymin pokemon.

Evil scientists? It did also consider to give her the ability to metabolize toxins by using the very same ability... this time taking inspiration from a cousin of the leaf sheep in the mollusk branch, the blue sea dragon. It metabolize toxins by ingesting jellyfish that already produces said toxins. She could have commute to a lab to give her poison so antivenom could be produced from it (Ieven considered that it could be a sister of hers that has the ability instead)... but I decided against it because it could go against her being normal despite bing a metahuman.

She could search for help there like any young person could a youth employment service. Unless there's some kind of racism for meta humans, or prejudice against humans with different appearances in the /co/-verse, I don't think she'd have a hard time to find a regular job. Unless people hates green-skin girl (that'd be a first).

I'd see her having a scholarship in athletics. Perhaps track and fields, or gymnastics.

*Professor, though I just checked the wiki and she’s supposedly in jail? Also probably in her 90s-100s so unless she had a youth serum pumped into her she’s probably out of the game.

Something cool that I just thought about the girl, many athletes and models have to watch their diets. Due to her working very hard she only eat greens to keep her training going. I remember when playing Persona 5 that Ann very much likes to eat sweets and invite people to eat sweets with her, and I can easily imagine the Leaf Sheep Girl that cannot eat the food. Because she’s currently in photosynthesis she doesn’t have the drive to eat anything, except drinking water with vitamins and nutrients. So either she has to pass going out for a bite (except on some rare occasions), or she has to force herself to eat when she feels like she has her stomach full.

I already wrote it with digging in heels and smoke trails. I wish I could write this better since it's all in motion in my mind and trying to convey it in descriptions of still panels feels like a lot is lost from my mind's eye to yours.

Imagine you're in a wheelchair being pushed by a mad woman running down the hallway of a hospital who then digs her heels into the floor with dual smoke trails behind her as you brace for impact with your reflection on the rapidly approaching elevator door only to stop mere inches from it.
It just loses a lot the further into the comic format I go to make it work for the medium I'm presenting this for.

Well, I'm gonna go to bed now before my eyes start bleeding. Goodnight.

Oh I see. I tried looking online for glucose doping and I only found an article talking about a german team found of doping during the Olympic. They thought they were injected glucose which should have been legal and without any drawbacks, but it was in fact meth.

Though since (for the leaf sheep at least) the photosynthesis is only temporary and won’t renew so long as she’s not eating plants, she could time her diet to not eat greens when a competition is going on. Also as far as I know, glucose is good to repair tears in muscles which would be optimal during training, not while competing. Though I am very limited on my knowledge in this field.

Isn't sugar rush a myth? Your body keeps consuming the same amount of sugar and regulates itself not to consume more, so all the extra sugar is either stored away for later in case there's a void of sugar, or flushed out of the system.

JackHammer #4: Blessing in Disguise

Page 1
Panel 1
The panel is framed within a TV screen. On the screen is a news graphic reading "Action 52 News Report!"
"This is Action News 52 bringing you the latest on super activity!"

Panel 2
Two figures sit behind an anchor desk: a woman wearing a blue cowl over the top of her head that resembles a blue bird and a man wearing a tall red cap cone that covers his entire head. Other than their odd head-wear, both are dressed in business casual suits. Behind them is a screen showing a bunch of info-graphics. One with a picture of the compound from the previous issue, another with Cataract being hauled away in cuffs by the police.
Blue Jay: "Good afternoon! I'm Blue Jay."
The Cardinal: "And I'm The Cardinal."
Blue Jay: "Our top super news continues to be the mass kidnapping of students from Anvilford University. Other than some exposure and exhaustion, there were no serious injuries."
Cardinal: "The perpetrator is in police custody and is being uncooperative. Authorities suspect he's part of a larger organization, but investigations are still on-going."
Blue Jay: "Witnesses from the victims claim that they were rescued by an up-and-coming new hammer wielding hero."

Panel 3
Kurt is sitting in a hospital bed holding up the remote as the TV goes dark.
Kurt: "Yeah, I already lived that, I don't need to hear about it again."

Panel 4
Kurt lies back down on the bed with a FWOMP as he closes his eyes, the back part of the bed is raised up.
Kurt: "Just some exposure, huh? Maybe I'll get out of here today. If not, well, the daily 'entertainment' should be arriving in 3, 2, 1..."

Panel 5
Just as Kurt predicted, a young nurse with her arms full of bedding pushes the door open to his room with her shoulder. She has shoulder length brown hair and amber eyes, she's wearing scrubs.

Kurt, narrating: Rachel Wraithright, she's in the med program. Currently volunteering at the hospital to help out with the in-flux of victims. She's friendly, cute, but also...

Panel 6, small panel, nested within panel 7 as a small circle in the corner.
Rachel steps on the corner of one of the sheets she's holding and falls.
Rachel: "Whoops!"

Panel 7
Rachel lands on her butt, but one of the pillows she was carrying somehow fell exactly where she was going to land.
Kurt, narrating: Kind of a klutz.

Page 2
Panel 1
Rachel is standing back up, with the bedding tucked under her arms now. She's smiling and laughing. A beacon of sunshine.
Rachel: "I'm OK! Another safe landing!"
Kurt: "It's amazing how you've done something like that every day."
Rachel: "I know, right?"

Panel 2
Perspective is looking out from inside of the closet, Rachel has her hands raised as she's shoving the bedding away, looking over her shoulder at Kurt who is in the hospital bed.
Kurt: "Any idea when they'll be done 'observing' me?"

Panel 3
Perspective is from Kurt in his bed looking at Rachel as she spins around from the closet. There should be a twirl motion line for this. As she does so a canister falls out of the open closet door and rolls into the room, also with motion lines to show where it started from and 'clink' sound effects from where it landed and rolled from.
Rachel: "Good question! Let me just check your-"

Panel 4, small panel.
Close up of Rachel's foot stepping on the canister.

Panel 5
Rachel has her arms out to either side doing whirly bird motions trying to keep her balance as she stumbles forwards with her eyes open wide.

Panel 6
Rachel has caught herself on the bedside table next to Kurt. A glass of water has been tipped over from the impact on top of a clipboard.

Panel 7
Rachel is holding up the now soaked clipboard, holding it tilted trying to make heads or tails of it.
"Umm..."

Panel 8
Rachel is standing behind a wheelchair she just set up, her smile is back.
Rachel: "So anyway, let's go ask the doctor!"

Page 3
Panel 1
Rachel is pushing Kurt in the wheelchair through the hallways at high speeds with speed lines show this is not an appropriate speed. Kurt has his arms tucked in and his head sinking lower down into his body as much as he can as Rachel zooms him down the hallway. Her smile is not wavering.
Kurt: "Why the rush?"
Rachel: "The doctor leaves for the weekend in 10 minutes and the elevator is busy this time of day, so-!"

Panel 2
Rachel weaves around an opening door with a dust line behind them showing the evasive actions. Her smile has not faltered. Kurt's expression is one of extreme worry now. He's sucked in his lips making his mouth look like a line and is starting to sweat as he's now gripping the arms of the wheel chair as if he'd just been passed the ball with the entire opposing team charging him. Behind them, off panel there's a CRASH sound effect.

Panel 3
The elevator door is fast approaching, the door is already closing. There are speed lines all around it to show they're getting there in a hurry.

Panel 4
Rachel digs her heels into the floor, there's dual smoke lines trailing behind them as they rapidly decelerate.

Panel 5
Kurt braces for impact with his arms shielding his head and torso, but they come to a complete stop safely inches before colliding with the elevator door.

Panel 6
Rachel has one hand on her hip with the other still on the wheelchair handles. Kurt has sunken more into the chair, looking pale for his complexion.
Rachel: "Well phooey, guess you're stuck here for the weekend."

Panel 1
Rachel is pushing Kurt's wheelchair back to his room at a much slower speed. Her usual smile is back. Kurt is doe-eyed though.
Rachel: "Well, chin up! I'll still be by to check in on you over the weekend so it's not all bad!"
Off panel: "Oh, Mr. Simmons."

Panel 2
A doctor is standing in front of Kurt and Rachel, he has bags under his eyes and is holding up Kurt's chart, looking it over. Kurt is looking up at Rachel who is leaning over him, still smiling.
Doctor: "You're lucky you caught me. I was just heading out, but some kind of commotion in the halls delayed me."
Doctor: "Mr. Simmons is good to go home now."
Rachel: "Hey, that's great! Everything worked out! Let's get you back to your room so you can-"
Doctor: "And I think he can walk on his own. Unless Mr. Simmons would like to use the wheel-"

Panel 3
Kurt bolts upright from the wheelchair standing stiff as a board. Rachel is behind him with her hands together, excitedly.
Kurt: "Uh, nope. I'm good. Thanks, doc!"

Panel 4
Kurt is walking like a robot away from the wheelchair, the doctor has turned his attention to Rachel. He's pinching his eyes from exhaustion, Rachel is pointing to herself.
Doctor: "You're also free to go home now, Ms. Wraithright."
Rachel: "Huh? But aren't you still understaffed from all the overflow?"
Doctor: "We're planning on releasing about half of them later tonight. Your services are no longer required for the time being."
Rachel: "Oh, well, um, OK!"

Panel 5
A few minutes later...
Kurt and Rachel are both standing in the elevator riding it down. It's awkward. Kurt has a duffel bag slung over his shoulder. Rachel has her arms in front of her pointed down, hands clasped.
Kurt, thinking: "That was kind of cold of the doc, but, well, she is the way she is. But... oh hell, she is cute."
Kurt: "So hey! We're both free now."
Rachel: "Yeah, I guess so."
Kurt: "I wasn't expecting to get out so soon, so I don't have any plans for the rest of today, wanna... hang out?"

Close up of Rachel's face, her smile has returned as well as beams of sunshine and flowers radiating from her.
Rachel: "OK!"

Panel 7
Smash cut to Kurt and Rachel walking down the sidewalk with Kurt's arms full of STUFF, all the stuff Rachel was keeping at the hospital during her temp position. Rachel is practically prancing out in front of him with her big smile. Maybe with a change of clothes to something more casual than scrubs.
Kurt, thinking: "This isn't what I had in mind."

Page 5
Panel 1
Narration box: ELSEWHERE
Jack is walking down the sidewalk of the city, backpack on his back, hands on the straps adjusting it.

Panel 2
As Jack's walking he spots a man who looks lost as he's fidgeting, glancing around nervously. What really catches Jack's eye is how he's dressed in a yellow robe-like uniform he doesn't recognize.
Jack: "Hey mister, you alright?"
Man: "Yes, I mean no. I mean I'm looking for someone. A small old man. Have you seen him?"
Jack: " 'fraid not. I'll keep an eye out."
Man: "I can't believe he ran off on me."

Panel 3
Less than 15 minutes later...
Jack is standing outside of the hospital having just exited. He's scratching his head.
Jack: "Man, what are the odds. I must've just missed him. Oh well, maybe I'll meet up with him in town."

Panel 4
Narration box: Some streets over.
Rachel and Kurt have stopped to look at a mess of scaffolding set up in front of an old historic building. Rachel is leaning way back with a hand up over her eyes to shield them from the sun. Kurt is overburdened and can's see much of anything.
Rachel: "I hear it's one of the oldest buildings in town still being used for-"

Panel 5
Rachel leaned back too far and lost her balance, Kurt caught her in his arms, but dropped all of what he was carrying to do so. There's a crash sound from below them off panel. She's looking up at him, smiling. Kurt is also nervously smiling.
Rachel: "Aha ha... whoops. Good thing you were here!"
Kurt: "Yeah."

Crash, fwoosh.
Rachel: "Aaaand, there's goes my jar of lucky pennies."

Page 6
Panel 1
Kurt, Rachel, and a bystander are all knelt down picking up the pennies. Next to the bystander is a ladder, he's wearing painter's overalls and is clearly meant to be the person to go up the scaffolding. I would say to use /wg/-tan's design as a stand-in here.
WG: "You kids really 'ought to be more careful."
Rachel: "Yeah, sorry! Thanks for helping me pick these up. I'm always saving them for the kids at the hospital."
Off panel CRACK

Panel 2
Worm's eye view from behind Kurt, Rachel, and WG looking up at the scolding which as just given way and tilted dangerously to one side. One of the boards has flung upwards and smacked a windowsill sending a flower pot flying off panel.
WG: "Ah, geez! If I had been climbing up that when it tilted I could've fell and broke my neck!"
Rachel: "Yeah, you could have! Lucky for you!"

Panel 3
Narration box: Meanwhile
Jack is walking down the sidewalk several blocks away, he has his head turned as he's spotted a tiny old man with busy eyebrows with a cane. Both hands are on the cane in front of him as he's standing in front of a cross walk. He's wearing a similar shade of yellow as the man from earlier.
Jack: "Oh, that must be the old timer he was looking for."

Panel 4, small panel

Panel 1
Jack has leapt up into the air and grabbed the flower pot, clutching it to his torso like catching a football. He rolls in mid air like the six million dollar man.

Panel 2
Jack is laying on his back on the ground, the flower pot resting, unbroken, on his chest. The old man is balancing with his cane in one hand and shrugging with his other arm while looking down at him. Jack is looking up at the old man incredulously.
Old man: "Ain't really hygienic doing football practice on the sidewalks, sonny."

Panel 3
The old man is walking into the street while the cross walk is clearly flashing "do not walk" as a large truck is speeding towards him.
Old man: "Well, it's not my place to say. I've got places to be."

Panel 4
Similar panel, but the truck is much closer, Jack has dashed into the street and is holding the old man over his head and is nearly off-panel now. He's holding him like how Batman 66 held that bomb.

Panel 5
Jack is doubled over catching his breath as the old man is looking over at him.
Old man: "Whoa there, sonny, what's the rush?"
Jack, thinking: "This old timer must be senile. Those yellow clothes must be part of a nursing home uniform."

Panel 1
Rachel and Kurt are exiting an ice cream shop. Rachel is holding two cones, one in each hand, she's licking one of them. Kurt is still overburdened, but he's reorganized the things into bags so he's able to hold the straps in both hands.
Rachel: "Don't worry! I'll hold yours until we can find some place to sit."

Panel 2
Rachel surveys the outdoor seating area on the sidewalk, the chairs are all taken.
Rachel: "Hmm..."

Panel 3
Rachel has suddenly jerked her arm holding the untouched ice cream closer to Kurt's face causing him to reel back. Her other arm has shot out behind her off panel.
Rachel: "Well, no sense letting it get all melty! I can hold it for you while you lick! At least until a table frees-"
Off panel: HONK!

Panel 4
A man in a drop top car has stopped in the road with ice cream splattered all over his windshield. The angle is from behind Rachel and Kurt where we only see the back of Rachel's head. Kurt is actually going for the ice cream with his mouth now. The man is exiting his car. He's wearing sunglasses.
Man: "Really?!"
Rachel: "Aw man, my ice cream, I mean... whoops."

Panel 5
The man is standing in front of Rachel pointing a finger at her, she's still smiling but has her hands up, palms open defensively. Kurt is watching from the sidelines, waiting if he needs to jump in. From off-panel there's a loud CRASH.
Kurt, thinking: "Never a dull moment."

Panel 6
Where the man's drop down car would've been stopped at a red light if not for Rachel's ice cream hitting his windshield, and air conditioning unit has fallen and crashed into the road, right where the driver's seat would've been. The man is tipping his sunglasses up and looks pale. Kurt's expression is nonplussed at this point. Rachel is still smiling.
Man: "That... would've killed me."
Rachel: "Yeah it would've! Lucky you!"
Kurt, thinking: "Yeah, this is a pattern."

Panel 1
The impact of the AC unit is sending vibrations through the ground in the visual form of circles emanating from it.

Panel 2
The circles collide with a manhole cover which inexplicably has now popped open. Maybe panels 1 and 2 are one long panel that are connected as a fish-eye lens visual transition?

Panel 3
The old man has turned away from Jack and is walking away now as Jack has just about caught his breath.
Old man: "Well, don't ware yourself out. Must be nice still being young."

Panel 4
Speed lines are coming from the open manhole in the background that the old man is now walking towards, Jack is in the foreground and has his mouth open in disbelief over this.

Panel 5
Looking from the top down, there's a dust trail from off panel showing that Jack has once again sprinted to the rescue. Jack is making a spinning motion with his arms and the old man's walking path, as represented by a line, has taken a sharp right angle with where he would've been walking over the manhole represented by a dotted line.
Old man: "That's a mighty stiff breeze!"

Panel 6
Jack is crouched down placing the cover back over the manhole.
Jack: "It's just one of those days."
Off panel: "What's your damage you old bastard?!"
Jack: "And it's not over yet."

Old man: "I'm just saying that's poor posture! You're gonna give yourself spikes slouching like that."
Thug: "I'll spike you across the street, old man!"

Panel 2
Jack is running into the alleyway, the thug has raised his fist as if he's about to punch Jack. The old man raises an eyebrow.
Jack: "Wait! Stop! He's just a senile old man who got lost!"
Thug: "He your gramps or something!? Buzz off!"

Panel 3
Jack is looking down at the old man, he's confused still, but trying to puzzle out if the old man is really more than he seems.
Jack, thinking: "Just who is this-"
Off panel: "Master No Holds!"

Panel 4
The young man wearing the orange robes from earlier has appeared in front of Jack and the old man. He's looking down at the old man sternly and the old man refuses to meet his gaze. Jack is still looking on, puzzled.
Young man: "Look what you've done! You promised the misses your fighting days were over!"
No Holds: "Oh... come on. They were about to beat up this nice young fella' I met. Your grandma doesn't need to know about this."
Young man: "We're going home!"
No Holds: "But... I wanted to meet that superhero... The one who's been fighting with the new Blue Moon."

Panel 5

No Holds is new to the story, but I floated the idea for him years ago in the threads. This is his introduction.
In his prime he was a hero, or at least rival to the previous Blue Moon (aka Aoko's grandfather) and I'm trying to set him up as someone Jack may consider mentoring under later to be a more effective hero when he starts facing off against more powerful/experienced villains who can actually best him.

If you ask me, the panel descriptions got lazier as I went on. SLA (I think) was the one who liked describing camera angles and perspective shots, so I tried mimicking that where I could.

Glad you liked it, goodnight.

>The mat was cleared. Aya was still softly snoring on the grass, a damp towel gently covering her forehead thanks to Mrs. Mavis. Gwendolyn sat nearby, nursing a quiet pride and a guilty headache. Willow kept glancing back and forth between them and the center mat, where the next match was about to begin.
>Ronnie and Sailor Norm stepped forward.
>Norm jogged in place with the kind of energy that could power a ship. His limbs swung in controlled circles, his white sailor hat sat snugly behind his thick blonde hair, and his sailor shirt slightly billowed with every movement like a sail catching wind. His long legs bounced with every step, his broad shoulders relaxed but ready.
>In contrast, Ronnie looked like a librarian being pushed into a mosh pit.
>He stood stiffly at the edge of the mat, arms folded behind his back, expression neutralβ€”too neutral. His ears twitched slightly, his tail locked low with tension. From the sidelines, he heard Gwendolyn whisper to Willow, β€œI don’t know if Ronnie has any fighting experience.”
>Willow hummed. β€œHe might surprise us.”
>But Ronnie didn’t feel surprising. He felt like a beanpole about to get clobbered by a walking buoy.
>Sailor Norm stopped bouncing and turned to face him, stretching one arm behind his head with a grin.
>β€œHey, Ronnie,” he said, voice easy and upbeat. β€œI won’t hit you too hard, I promise. This is just training, right?”
>Ronnie looked up at himβ€”way up at him.
>Sailor Norm was the tallest in the class. By a lot. He was all limbs and reach, with the kind of frame that made most hand-to-hand fights into uphill battles. Ronnie’s eyes traced him from his head to his feet, looking for any weak spotβ€”any wobble, any inconsistency, any exploitable flaw.
>Nothing.
>Not a slouch in his stance. Not a nervous twitch. Just good posture and a stupidly excited expression.

>β€œI’m sure you won’t,” Ronnie said, forcing a smile. It came out lopsided, brittleβ€”but in his head, something shifted.
>And then… it clicked.
>He had teeth.
>Not just metaphorical onesβ€”actual teeth.
>Claws, too. Short, retractable, but sharp. A natural part of his physiology he had long ignored. He had learned so early in his life to depend on his mindβ€”on logic, analysis, his budding mastery over spacetime mechanicsβ€”that he had forgotten what he was underneath all the brainpower.
>"I’m a Dalmatian," he thought. "An anthro canine. I’m not just smartβ€”I’m designed for agility, flexibility, speed…"
>His ears perked up slightly. His shoulders lowered just a littleβ€”not in defeat, but in focus.
>"Okay," he thought. "You’re still gonna get bruised. But now? You have a shot."
>From the sideline, Willow noticed the change in his stance. His tail lifted slightly. His weight shifted to the balls of his feet, his hands falling naturally at his sides.
>β€œWhoa,” she whispered. β€œLook at Ronnie.”
>Gwendolyn leaned forward. β€œIs he… serious now?”
>Back on the mat, Coach Roma lifted her hand again.
>β€œAll right, boys. The match will begin in five…”
>Norm cracked his knuckles, smiling brightly.
>β€œFour…”
>Ronnie dropped into a low stance, legs bent just enough to spring. His claws flexed silently.
>β€œThree…”
>Willow held her breath.
>β€œTwo…”
>Norm winked. β€œHope you’re ready!”
>Ronnie’s eyes locked onto Norm’s center of gravity.
>β€œOne…”
>A beat of silence.
>β€œBEGIN!!”
>Ronnie lunged forward.
>No hesitation. No calculation. Just movement.
>It shocked everyoneβ€”Willow blinked, Gwendolyn gasped, even Coach Alan raised an eyebrow. No one expected Ronnie to initiate the fight. But that was the genius of it. Everyone assumed he’d start defensive, waiting to analyze and counter. Instead, he went low, claws out, and charged Sailor Norm’s legs like a flash of black-and-white fur.

>It was a clever moveβ€”Norm’s height and reach were his strengths, but his long limbs also made him top-heavy. If Ronnie could just knock his legs out from under himβ€”
>He struck fast, ducking beneath Norm’s arms, going straight for the knees with a sliding sweep.
>Norm stumbled.
>His arms flailed.
>Everyone leaned in.
>This could workβ€”
>But then…
>Norm jumped.
>Just enough.
>His right foot lifted, avoiding the sweep by inches. Ronnie’s claws barely grazed his pant leg. With surprising grace, Norm landed lightly on one foot, twisted midair like a gymnast, and bounced backward, recovering instantly.
>β€œWhoa!” Norm laughed, stepping back with an impressed grin. β€œYou almost got me there!”
>Ronnie, still crouched low, blinked in frustration. He hadn’t expected Norm to actually dodge that.
>"Right," Ronnie thought bitterly. "Experience. Norm has done this before."
>Still, he wasn’t done.
>Trying to follow up fast before Norm could press the advantage, Ronnie jumped to his feet and delivered a quick, desperate sidekickβ€”his paw angled to strike the side of Norm’s thigh.
>It landed with a soft thud.
>Norm didn’t even budge.
>Ronnie, on the other hand, recoiled instantly, hopping backward on one leg while grabbing the foot he kicked with.
>β€œouch?” he said in a nonchalant way like he wasn't sure if he should feel pain or not.
>From the sidelines, Willow’s hand flew up to cover her mouth. She almost giggled but managed to mask it with a polite cough. Gwendolyn looked over and whispered, β€œHe kicked Norm? With his foot? That’s like punching a brick wall with a marshmallow.”
>Back on the mat, Norm tilted his head. β€œYou okay, bud?”
>Ronnie didn’t answer. He forced himself back into a stance, teeth gritted.
>Norm didn’t wait.

>With a smooth, practiced step, he closed the gap. One hand wrapped behind Ronnie’s shoulder, the other gripping around his waist in a wrestler’s clinch. Ronnie squirmed, trying to slip out, but Norm had leverage now. His body twisted, shifting weight from heel to toe, and lifted.
>Ronnie felt the mat leave his feet.
>No noβ€”
>With a wide, looping motion, Norm began the slamβ€”lowering them both toward the floor, but guiding Ronnie’s body down first. It wasn’t violent, but it was fast, and it ended with Ronnie’s back pressed against the mat and Norm’s arms locking around his upper body in a tight hold.
>β€œJust breathe,” Norm said gently, almost like a big brother. β€œI’ll go easy.”
>The grip tightened. Norm's forearm locked beneath Ronnie’s chin, not enough to choke, but enough to control. His legs shifted to pin Ronnie’s lower half, anchoring him in place.
>Coach Roma called out from the side, β€œGrapple position established! Clean technique, full points for control.”
>Ronnie squirmed, teeth gritted.
>This was bad.
>He’d misjudged everythingβ€”his speed, his reach, even his physiology. All that confidence, that little boost of remembering his claws and teethβ€”it had lasted a minute. Maybe less.
>And now?
>Now he was stuck, his back on the mat, being slowly folded into submission like a napkin at a dinner party.
>"Think, Ronnie. Think fast. Desperate measures time…"
>He took a breath.
>And prepared to gamble.
>Ronnie squirmed beneath Norm’s grip, trying every slight angle, every twitch of resistance, but the sailor’s technique was solidβ€”tight, experienced, relentless. The mat felt like a trap door, and the weight on top of him might as well have been steel.
>His breathing quickened.
>"I could teleport," he thought.
>The idea flashed across his mind like a spark. Just twist the coordinatesβ€”shift a few centimeters sidewaysβ€”and I’d be out of the hold in a blink. Nobody would even know.
>But something stopped him.

>Not guilt.
>Not honor.
>It was pride.
>Ronnie wasn’t used to feeling prideβ€”but right now, something in him refused to let this end with cheating. He didn’t want them to see him as the loudmouth know-it-all who cracked jokes and dodged effort. Not today.
>Not in front of his classmates.
>Not in front of the teachers.
>I have to show them I can win on my own…
>Then, something else clicked.
>Coach Roma had gone over the rulesβ€”no punches, no kicks, tap out if you lose. Wrestling style.
>She never said anything about biting.
>And this wasn’t a schoolyard anymore. If this had been a real fight, there would be no rules.
>A smile curved across Ronnie’s face, slow and toothy.
>He twisted his head slightly, finding the edge of Norm’s bicep pressing just close enough to his jaw.
>Norm, still focused on tightening the hold, didn’t see it coming.
>β€œYou’re doing better than I thought, Ronnie,” Norm said, a little surprised. β€œMost people would’ve tapped byβ€”OW!”
>Ronnie struck.
>Fangs bared, his sharp Dalmatian canines clamped down on Norm’s arm with vicious force.
>The grip broke.
>Norm howled in pain, jerking back instinctively. β€œWHAT THE HELL?!”
>The sound of a genuine scream cracked the mood of the training field. Willow and Gwendolyn both stood up, eyes wide. Aya, half-asleep on the floor, blinked and mumbled, β€œDid someone lose a limb?”
>Coach Alan immediately stepped forward. β€œYou can stop now, Ronnie,” he said, voice stern.
>But Ronnie didn’t stop.
>The taste of sweat and skin and adrenaline filled his mouth, and something inside him snapped. He bit harder, gripping Norm’s arm like a terrier with a toy. Norm panicked, flailing, and then began striking Ronnie’s head with open palms and elbows to try and break free.

>β€œRONNIE!” Coach Roma’s voice thundered across the field. β€œLET GO! THAT’S ENOUGHβ€”BOTH OF YOU!”
>But Ronnie didn’t move. His whole body shook with tension.
>And then… it came.
>The faint, coppery taste of blood hit his tongue.
>It wasn’t a lot. But it was enough.
>His eyes widened. His jaw released.
>He pulled back, suddenly aware of himself againβ€”panting, shaking, horrified. Norm stumbled back, clutching his arm, blood oozing through his sleeve.
>The whole field had gone silent.
>Ronnie stared.
>He couldn’t speak. Couldn’t think. Just stared at the red streak across Norm’s armβ€”and the small smear of it still on his own teeth.
>The others watched in stunned silence. Willow looked pale. Gwendolyn covered her mouth. Aya sat bolt upright now, fully awake, blinking in disbelief.
>The teachers rushed in. Coach Roma and Coach Alan went to Norm immediately, unrolling a med kit and assessing the damage.
>Mrs. Mavis walked straight to Ronnie, her eyes narrow and unreadable.
>He stood frozen, breath shallow, staring at his own shaking hands.
>β€œIβ€”I didn’t mean to—” he started.
>But before he could finish, Mrs. Mavis placed a hand under his chin and tilted his face up. She looked straight at his mouth, at the bloodied teeth.
>And froze.
>Something in her expression cracked. Her eyes widened slightly. Her lips parted just a bit, and her pupils narrowedβ€”not in anger, but in memory. Her breathing picked up, sharp and shallow. Her paw gripped Ronnie’s chin a little too tightly, then pulled back.

>Coach Alan stood and glared at Ronnie. β€œRonald Hund. Disqualified. And you’ll report for detention duty for the next two weeks. We’ll be talking about this later.”
>Ronnie just nodded, still silent, still pale.
>He’d never felt this way before. Not when he lost. Not when he embarrassed himself.
>This wasn’t embarrassment.
>This was fear of himself.
>Sailor Norm was helped to the bench. His arm was wrapped up, but he looked more confused than angry. β€œI’m okay,” he mumbled. β€œSeriously. It just… surprised me, that’s all.”
>Coach Roma turned to the rest of the students. β€œNext match. Willow, you’re up.”
>Willow stood slowly.
>The tension still lingered in the air like a storm cloud, but something shifted in her posture. Her tail flicked once, her feet grounded themselves in the soil, and her fists clenched with focus.
>β€œReady,” she said with a spark in her voice.
>Coach Roma smiledβ€”not kindly, not mockingly, but with a quiet, thrilled respect.
>β€œI’ve been waiting to see what you’ve got, Filbert,” she said, cracking her knuckles. β€œShow me how your father trained you.”

I'm looking over my notes for 'In the Lair of the Blue Moon' and they are extensive enough to where this shouldn't be too difficult to flesh out more and structure into a script. No promises on how long it will take me though because my life if a never ending parade of looming disaster and misery. It's likely going to be a two-parter like how #2 and #3 are.

The question is: What's next for Jack after #5? There are a few items left on the agenda such as:
-The return of KillFeed (I have scant notes for this)
-The Crackdown Crossover (I would like to collaborate with the Crackdown Anon for this as CD's encounter with JH was made important to CD's character development, but this may still be a ways off)
-The Don Darkness Disaster (there is a scenario written for an encounter by the anon who came up with JH, but it needs set up)
but no direction on where his story is going directly next after #5, so all of those ideas might be later on than the to be determined #6 plot.

So, if anyone in the thread is interested in JackHammer or has been wanting to get involved, this is a good time to start crafting story pitches. Keep in mind that continuity is in play for JackHammer, so previous stories will likely have an impact on following or future stories and the timeline does move with each story. For example, JH #1 is on Halloween and JH #5 is on Valentine's Day, so the next plot likely won't be too long after that.

I've mentioned before, years ago now, that the driving conflict would be one of Jack's teammates, Brad (Bull-E of the Mean Teens back when they were teens) would take up a one or two night side gig as a goon for the local scum and Jack has to save him from CD's brutal brand of vigilantism.

City's name is Quemar and it's supposed to be kind of an antithesis to Los Palos: while former is a cozy gentrified haven, latter is an ageing husk of US industrial legacy, left to rot. Anything of value has either perished in flames (that's where the city got its name from) or moved overseas, with abandoned warehouses and workshops now either collecting dust or at the mercy of criminals. Highest unimployment rates in the entire state, rampant corruption in local government and tangy-flavored tap water.

>Maybe it was losing to Jack?
That would make some sense. Arthur seems to be naturally inclined to doubt himself. His self-esteem about the vigilante business can't be great in the first place given how much he gets beaten up, even though he wins. An actual decisive loss could make him decide "boy I'm shit at this superhero thing" and quit for a bit, which in turn could lead to returning to academia just out of being unsure of where to go next.

>Does he get beaten up that often by the rank and file criminals? I thought he was more... unassailable than that
"Beat up" isn't entirely a correct term since it implies that whatever regular mooks do to him actually makes him stand down. A part of the reason why he's feared is his ability to "no sell" serious damage. He gets hit, stabbed, shot and he *still* keeps going. Well, usually. He gets knocked out sometimes, but it's for the plot reasons so it doesn't count.

There still has to be something that directly motivates him to take up education again. What you are describing is exactly what he went through with it in his younger years and he decided that it wasn't worth the hassle. Digging through the archives collecting old conversations for reference for when I get to this crossover story, it's becoming apparent that I did have more planned, and so did the Crackdown anon.
It seems the fight was a wake up call for both Jack and Arthur causing Jack to actually start thinking about seeking out someone to train him and for Arthur to start getting gud with that ex-criminal sensei.

Looking at it all with the perspective of time, I think it actually makes sense for the KillFeed returns plot to happen after the Crackdown crossover since it will be definitive proof to KF that the hero he's hunting is on or related to the visiting football team. It's too big of a coincidence for the hero JackHammer to be spotted half-way across the country when the Anvilfall Antelopes are visiting for a game.

It is something to think about. You have an idea of where you want Arthur to end up for a while (dating Lila), but you don't have the path written yet for how he gets there. Slotting this in might give you another stepping stone to building that path.

Personally, I think Lila should already be doing some Knightingale stuff by the time it happens, but the bug team's timeline is something I'm not privy to, only that they've mentioned she starts wearing her own super suit during a road trip.
I still think that Jack should be younger than Arthur, Marley, and Lila though.

Currently on page 4 of In the Lair of the Blue Moon script writing. This is one of those issues where I think the issue name title card should be put on the second part.

You're right, but I still kinda want to write a couple of general misadventures before the plot can be set in motion proper.
One of the ideas I had is making a "mini-series" made up of short issue-long stories that aren't actually connected to one another, similar to Ellis' run on Moon Knight.

OK. Got ideas for what you want those adventures to be? Criminals, supernatural stuff, possible alien abductions if you want to push the envelope?
The first step is to just write it all down and then build from there.

I should track down that small sample bit I did with Carnevalor's possible meeting with Crackdown.

so unless Ronnie can grow tits or become a dalmtian girl he won't able to get a sisterhood training.
