It's decent but was kinda bogged down by trying to turn popular memed moments like "2 nickels" into running gags. It was at it's best when it just let the staff write in new jokes and enjoy themselves.

That was what I was thinking. A lot of people have seen most of what Phineas And Ferb are doing and even Perry and Doofenshmirtz fight in public too. A decent chunk should be aware that they do wild stuff and that there's insane things going on. In the original series Irving's older brother had never heard of Phineas and Ferb despite his younger brother being a fan and believed he was making it all up until he came over to investigate it himself. Just like how Linda can live in the city and never notice Phineas and Ferb doing their thing, there are likely plenty of other danville residents who have never met Phineas and Ferb or if they had seen them, just thought they were random kids and weren't connected to every other crazy thing happening around town. Danville itself seems a bit off in these but that's something that started in Milo Murphy and has continued from there. They don't draw nearly as many background characters these days so crowd shots, streets, and buildings often look empty relative to earlier seasons and the people seem less chill in general.

The cruise ship episode was a notable exception to that since it often had a bunch of people onscreen and that were enjoying themselves.

I think it's mostly because even now, Dan has no intention of pulling a "growing up with the audience" even if he's happy to see how nostalgic everyone is. He knows this is ultimately a silly fun comedy show.
AT and RS and all those others did the breakup stuff around their third seasons as their audience got older because they felt it would be relevant to like, the 12-14 crowd who were coming of age for their first heartbreaks and felt having their favorite characters go through something similar could help them cope.
Dan just wants to tell some jokes and entertain the kids, keep things fun.
Especially since, ask any parent who raised a kid ever, the only proper way to deal with 12-14 year olds is to first acknowledge they're fucking demons and at a point when adults need to take a step back and let them start learning shit the hard way so that the stuff you taught them as a kid ends up reinforced.

The average rating for Disney Channel in 2022 when Amphibia ended was 178K versus 107K in 2024. So 300K for the Amphibia finale was about a 160% increase of the usual audience; 249K from 107K is almost 250% of their normal audience.

Had they aired at the same time back in 2022, a similar audience increase would have given PnF about 400K viewers. Considering Candace Against the Universe finished in the top five on Disney + for 2020, I'm pretty sure the interest was already there for a show revival as well.

They're about to hit episode five this Saturday. Guess it'll be another four weeks or so until they catch up. Once they do I'd hope Disney would start airing the next batch at an episode a week.

Rewatching the show really highlights some early weirdness, like this kid immediately recognizing Doof as an evil scientist, and this was already many episodes after they first called him a pharmacist.
If they had done this joke in a later season, he definitely would've called him a pharmacist.

I think the only one of those we canonically know the height of is Candace. There was that makeup add episode where she turned giant. I think they said she was 5'6". We've seen Doofenshmirtz's ID a couple of times and I'm pretty sure he said it himself as well.
