That's kinda different, though. Puss was never immortal with his lives, it didn't stop him from aging or anything. But having what were basically real life "1 UP" points meant he was able to get in as much danger as he wanted with zero fear.

His development through the movie is that when he reaches his final life, he loses his courage because he's now all of a sudden facing actual consequences for his actions. He can't just do whatever without caring. Therefore, his "finale" is accepting this situation and regaining his courage even as a normal person who can die.

But by Season 3 she had already developed into a character of her own and established a platonic friendship with Finn & Jake and started the trama with PB.

Something I've learned about shipping and fanart is that it is completely impossible to enjoy a show if the reason why you are watching it is because of the adorable shipping fanart. Because between this Marceline and Huntress Wizard stuff it is actually horrific wanting more of that and getting basically nothing out of the show.

I felt like AT would have not been the most fun to watch even if I walked into it unbiased but holy shit it becomes unbearable having no payoff. I watched to the end of the Lemonhope plot and I think that's all I can handle. I respect the show for committing to being completely weird but I don't know what the fuck these writers were thinking I mean the planning is even more absent that most shows that asspull all the way to the end.

The mortal isn't going to care what the immortal does after the mortal dies - the mortal's incentive is to get as much out of life as they can and if they care about the immortal they will want the immortal to find any sort of happiness after they are gone even if the mortal is one among many loves the immortal has.

The immortal isn't necessarily going to cheat on the mortal for any reason related to being an immortal. A person will cheat if they wish regardless. Finn will get a lifetime with Marceline assuming he cannot acquire immortality. There's no reason why Marceline would think that spending Finn's life with him is a waste of her time.
