At most I write down panel descriptions along with the bulk of the dialog.
Typically I only write an outline and some keywords and quips for dialog.
Sometimes I just mash together random drawings and improvise the dialog.

I did both of these for Oi. It had some good points but also lead to some rambling and the Banshee Vale story arc going way longer than originally planned. With Cosmic Crush I'm writing out each panel then storyboarding each page in thumbnails before making final art. Sometimes I add in panels or even wordless pages if I see it would help with pacing or building up to big moments

I've thought about this too, but don't know what direction to go in. She has a lot going on as a character that requires context, but id prefer doing shorter episodic stories rather than longform stuff. I don't think 4 panel Instagram gag strips would suit her. Maybe something like The Summoning where she can be in 1-2 page stories, with some oi cast like Bryan, Rhoddy and Poxface occasionally showing up as support characters or something. Or Meg Mogg and Owl type stories.

>What, if anything, do you do to get eyes on your webcomic? Do you advertise?
Before I used to just do the typical post and hashtag stuff but nowadays I do more targeted advertising. Reddit actually became very helpful in that regard when I started Abnormal Shift cause the subreddits that liked military stuff instantly latched onto the comic. Fans of masked characters are starting to latch onto it too and we got some collab stuff lined up with a few artists soon.

Advertising in those spaces got me enough of a push that GlobalComix put Abnormal on front page for a month. I'm looking to do the same with Tom N Artie cause the relaunch has pulled a more cassette-futurism aesthetic so I'll be hitting up those places.

>Give some idea of what your summer upload schedule looks like
June is all for shilling the campaign of my indie comic, Kaiju Dayz, so far that's going well.

July will be return to uploads as Tom N Artie and Abnormal Shift will start new arcs. TnA will get Mondays while AS gets Fridays both with two pages per upload. At first I worried I might be competing with myself but realized twice a week uploads will look good.

I'd have to say the Morrigan, and she hates Moloch and Tanit.
Her origin story is
>won a local music contest with her childhood bff
>the Moloch/Tanit cult running the contest took them to a ritual
>Dana's brothers got burned infront of her and her bff, using intense trauma to activate their magic
>Banshee Witch sensei tries to stop the ritual and save the kids, only Dana gets saved

I have been promoting my comic mainly on Twitter, Bluesky, Discords and on the Tapas forum. The Tapas forums actually were very fruitful. My comic has rapidly grown. I also redesigned the cover of my comic to make it more attractive for people on Tapas' "mystery" tab to look at.
>Thread Challenge:
Well haha, funny.
Ever since March, I've been doing 1 page upload per week, on Fridays. I've made a buffer for weekly page uploads up until mid July, because I want to focus the rest of my time on my thesis film and on the CRAB tournament throughout the summer. But I will also keep up building a new backlog for the comic.

I know capeshit comics are the worst offenders for it, but don't do this shit. It's cheap, it's lazy, and it's a misunderstanding of comics as a medium. You get capeshit writers doing this because they wish they were writing for TV, where an "awkward pause" moment can actually get across.

Bad way. Some people get triggered when you don't build your audience "organically". Meanwhile some popular artists have big egos and I wouldn't put it past them to call you out because your fanart doesn't come from the right place and you are using them only for their followers, especially if you are tagging a whole bunch of artists. In the end I don't think it matters, if it were to happen people would forget about it in a few days. People on there have the memory of a goldfish.

I have an autistic oc donut steel setting I've been building for like a decade now but I fundamentally struggle with coming up with actual characters or stories to tell within the setting itself. I've just detailed various bits of lore and tech within the setting and it's factions because rts games poisoned my brain when I was a wee lad.
Realistically though, the only way I figure I would ever get any use for this setting beyond just expanding it to my autistic enjoyment is if I made some sort of webcomic out of it, and I have some vague ideas for what to do, mostly revolving around exploring the setting from the point of view of a bunch of rather low level mercenaries that operate within the setting (picture related). However I don't really know how to start. I have never really done any actual stories, just random drawings & infographics for my setting and writing is generally not something I have any confidence in.

Any advice?

start off with memes/jokes, but have tid bit of world building in them. decide what message or whatever you want to have and how to get there. I'm like you, I have tons of lorebuilding/world building, races, racial slurs, cities, people ect lore shit ect. But basically whatever 'over arching' you have go for that, maybe even wing it too to an extend, the point is to get it out there.

Memes/jokes as in, in-universe jokes etc? Or just memes in general but with the characters I have. Not sure if I understand. I've drawn some little one image scenes etc with my characters like picture related, that I think that could translate into small stories/scenes in a comic format however the overarching issue of no "real plot" being there still lingers. I guess I'd just have to sit down and try to write/concept some sort of loose narrative or something.

It helps me personally with keeping the flow in thumbing and planning out my chapter.
It helps me structure things because I can physically lay my sheets out and compare them, and see if they work together. If not, I print out another blank page with the layout (two black rectangles with lines for dialogue, and some gutter space to write down notes, tone, actions, or any other details I need to remember for the pages).
For me since I work in a combination of mixed media (traditional inks and digital editing, toning/coloring), it is easiest and best for me to physically be able to lay stuff out and see if it's cohesive together or not.
I've done other layouts with four rectangles and lines for dialogue, but I changed to two rectangles for thumbs because they were bigger and easier to discern what scribbles I put down.
At the end of all of it, I can scan the thumbnails, blow up their size in Photoshop or sai/whatever, print out onto copy paper and then refine/edit the layout and sketches. I always use pen/marker instead of pencil, because it's permanent and it forces me to consider my composition and also reenforces line confidence. If I hate all of it, I draft another page.
I lightbox my inks so all of this works together for my workflow.
I strongly recommend experimenting with different drafting styles and layouts, eventually you'll find something that is comfortable and compliments your workflow. That takes time and it takes a bit to figure out your own work and art habits, but when you do find out what compliments and helps you work, it helps so much.
But don't get discouraged if you need to take a break or feel like you've hit a wall. Sometimes things just don't work at the moment; turn the page around, walk away for 5-10 minutes after doing something else, then come back to it. Not working on your stuff is sometimes just AS important as working on it, just make sure you eventually go back to working on your project. Good luck and have fun!
