The threads were infested with nasty shitposters and dying a slow death. Then the comic's weekly update schedule (which was still not enough for some people because they wanted less newspaper comic style SoL and more cgdct featuring nandroids specifically and more plot like in their fanfics) turned into "twice per year, maybe?" And even before the long hiatus there was a change of platform/release day that made it difficult to follow the comic.

I think the story is neat, I legit like the characters. Also, I really doubt porn is the main reason for the popularity of the comic; it seems to have a decent amount of fans on social media.
It's just a relatable, easy to follow story featuring a charismatic MC, a good visual style and designs, and interesting enough plot.

The hair doodly bit in her design puzzled me and this artist has a pretty darn good take for that part.

Lil sketch of Ladytron. I was looking for some headphones to draw on her and found a bunch of vintage stuff with really neat designs. I'm usually a sucker for more modern designs that are chunky-looking but I admit some of the old stuff got great looks. (Granted I have no idea how well they'll hold up now, performance-wise)

Do robots break if I lubricate their interior with my own oil?

There are three main reasons why the threads died based on my experience in them. One is due to jannies fucking with the threads one way or another. Like putting the threads on auto-sage or outright deleting them. Two is the seeping in of discord drama. Three is the proliferation of schizos and spammers that Anons can't help but to give attention to.
These combined makes making ogirinal work or even just visiting the threads tiresome. Now nobody has much interest on Emmy threads save for a few dedicated Anons and schizos. It's a shame, really.
