Because anon asked about Airazor, and most people would remember the BW character attached to the name. I just realized there is a character named Airazor who’s an Aerialbot in the ROTF toyline, but while that was another slingshot replacement, most people probably wouldn’t remember that.

someone theorized the idea of Thundercracker becoming the replacement arm for Superion but its tough to say given this issue or what exactly he did with the Ark.

It's really simple.
- All the classic 4 Scramble City combiners had someone replaced or changed for the Combiner Wars toyline.
Slingshot -> Alpha Bravo
Wildrider -> Offroad
Groove -> Rook
space shuttle Blast Off -> fighter jet Blast Off
- IDW1 followed suit with all these changes, because that was the tie-in media at the time.
- Skybound wanted to show off how powerful Megatron is, so a combiner loses a limb. Might as well reference the limb replacement that already happened elsewhere in the franchise. Same thing happened with Prime Cliffjumper and Bumblebee movie Cliffjumper dying.

In theory, yes. But in reality you have to ask if anyone working on these books even knows about any of the new Combiner Wars characters from over 10 years ago. Hasbro isn't getting Skybound to spotlight specific Transformers to shill current toys, and wouldn't care about shilling Combiner Wars characters in 2025 anyway, and I don't get the sense anyone working on these books really knows many G1 Transformers from after 1986, let alone minor characters from the 2010s.

Unless Energon Universe Skywarp has much more powerful teleporting than usual, or being hooked into the Ark really amped up his powers, they're presumably still on Earth somewhere.

This issue honestly was a disappointment. There’s no real twist to megatron getting his arm back (just another gun morph attack), Autobots got pushed around without any real counterplay, and all this is sill happening before the Joe crossover down the line.

Anon, you know Devastator isn't there because there was a toy planned, he's there because he was the first combiner in the first season of the cartoon, and the one that's in the movie, he's the one combiner even the most casual of casuals knows.

Superion is there because he was the first Autobot combiner and to give them something to fight Devastator and Bruticus with. If Hasbro wanted him in there to shill his toy, this issue wouldn't have happened the way it did at all.

Doubt it,he stole the ark after saying all those cybertronians know is fighting,he is a deserter from not only cons but war itself now and will try to uncouple skywarp from ark,Blades makes more sense cause he is an autobot on a combiner team and I wouldnt be suprised if they want to reference how original combiners (after devastator) could swap places with each other.
Its gonna be skywarp most likely tho,unless he hitched a ride on skywarp,then I predict him being a part of skywarp and cracker turning or going neutral.

Humans hurting Autobots is always retarded because it never ends well. If you win, you kill a potential protector who could have saved you from Decepticons attacking you and everything you cared about. And if you fail, you die like an asshole.
I don't understand why they keep doing this when its a pointless exercise for everyone involved. The Bay movies did this so bad it killed their franchise, and these writers really saw that and said "yeah lets do that again".

I gotta agree, I get where they were going, but it's honestly upsetting and annoying seeing the Autobots be almost completely unable of getting any kind of advantage over the Decepticons, at least not without suffering significant loses soon after.
Like they just got the aerialbots and Superion back, only for the Ark to be abducted and for Superion to get crippled by Megatron like it was nothing.
Also doesn't help that, so far, the Autobots are getting the short end of the stick from humanity constantly.
