Roger popping up in a random costume is more of the right energy level of this show, anyways.

The intro after the first 4 seasons does a better job with setting the tone of the show as opposed to the old one.

You know that multiverse episode where Hayley goes to the "universe where satire works" and they have a crappy vhs filter over it? I only just now realized they were poking fun at the early seasons.

I hate that episode. Why? Because it goes
>What? All those episodes where something happened to the Smiths but everything was fine the next episode? Yeah, multiverse. Fuck you for caring. No steaks. Nothing matters! We'll repeat plot points like Franny wanting a garden even though it was established she had one in earlier seasons. Franny wants to grow veg for her gumbo? Well she did that in the Camp Refugee episode but who remembers! TUTEL IS HERE!
And trying to be snarky with the text overlay and insulting you for reading it isn't funny. Like don't put it up there if you don't want people to read it.

American Dad was fine until it moved off FOX and I can hear the board room going
>We need to be more like Rick and Morty, can we be more like Rick and Morty?
>Err, I guess we can make the CIA guys a deus ex machina for random tech shit?
>BRILLIANT!
>Okay we'll go do that...
>Oh and make sure not to write jokes and instead just make references like RICKY SPANISH or JENNY or RAIDER DAVE or REGINALD that'd be sweet, the pot smoking retards who should be doing their term papers will love that thing they remember from 15 years ago
>Okay boss, you got it
>Great. Oh and more Tutel and less Lewis. We overplayed our hand with Lewis....

When American Dad first started, newspapers were still commonplace throughout the nation.

But as the years went by, it made sense for the Smiths to adapt with the times. Happens with lots of long-running animated programs.

Man, I hate the new Simpsons TV. The old one was iconic. They should have kept the old one or come up with a better design. Like BurnBot. I want someone to edit every episode of The Simpsons now and replace the TV with Burnbot. Or at least do the intro.

Oh come on, the old TV was iconic. Any Zoom Zooms want to weigh in on it? Old technology always has more personality. Newer stuff is just slicker and simpler. Which is a good thing, but from an aesthetic point of view, as an object, old tech usually looks better.

Old cars looked cooler, old TVs, heck even video game consoles used to have wood finishing.

I remember there being an interview with, I think a Clarence animator who said she likes drawing cartoon characters using old computers with the chunky screens. And I think either Max G or Zack said it's weird seeing cartoon characters using smartphones. I think it depends on the cartoon character. Like it's weird when Bugs Bunny does it.

Roger popping up in his random costumes is more interesting and funny than a newspaper article.

I prefer the new intro, because it gives Stan's family more personality, and Roger's costumes are just hilarious, and you never know what you are going to see next. I always thought it was strange in the original intro how Roger just stands there in the window. Roger is the most popular character in American Dad.
