Had barely begun and no one hadn't even started dreaming of their BBrae fanfics yet. Geoff Johns was the prime shipper, the one that actually had the power to make his wish come true.

Nowadays though, yes the only reason. Beast Boy and Raven got back together in the comics after the New 52 separated them is due how several BBrae shippers managing to land a job at DC, taking off where Johns left off.
