I like evil terra 1000x better than the same old same old victim terra. Literally terra is one of the classic betrayal comic storylines, and what makes her all the better is she was a red herring and didn't feel bad about it. There is something so fun and unique about that especially at the time this comic came out. Most betrayals you could see from a mile away or you sympathize with the betrayer or can rationalize it. But with terra she was so fucked up she made the old man aka slade look like he was the nice guy. Also she gave us one of the best villian hero encounters ever with beast boy and slade's fight/talk.

Also was a major part of beast boys growth that led to him being a more fundamental teen titan and leader.

Also just love me a good ole evil bitch, she had so much confidence and hate in her little heart. Also classic design best design

Honestly this is what's wrong with most villians now, everyone has a excuse and it instantly makes them uninteresting. Everyone was abused everyone was raped everyone has a dead mom or dad etc. But the thing is just because people have those things doesn't make them a "Victim" or negate their actions. It's more interesting to use those to parallels and tell a interesting inverse to our heroes. I say this because in a lot of ways her backstory parallels beast boys. I never truly saw it as gaslighting as if anything it helped beast boy not romantize terra in his head. He just helped snuff out the simp in him, he was like "no she wasn't secretly good, no she wasn't forced to do this. She hated you guys and you were just a job to her". An I kind of respect it also let's be honest gaslighting or not if slade didn't say that BB would have never recovered. Sure he was left crying and alone but he could now move on compared to if he felt terra was saveable and he failed her.

Three options come to mind:

1.Put her on the Outsiders. Geo Force was one of the main members and they rarely interact, there's story potential there. Speaking of Geo Force, I still don't understand how writers thought Batman imprisoning him for wanting to avenge his country's genocide was the right call.

2. Use her as a wild card. Sometimes she's an ally to the Titans, sometimes she's their enemy.

3.Probably an unpopular opinion on /co/, but give her a redemption arc. DC has done it for characters who did far worse things and it buries the controversy once and for all. I'm not saying go full she 'did nothing wrong' and excuse everything she did like what Wolfman did with Deathstroke.

4. Put her on a different (new?) team and see what happens.

Keeping her dead feels like a waste and most comic book characters don't stay dead anyways.

2. It can be Tara who initiates the loving because he's hot and she's lonely/never had a loving relationship before.

3. Friends with benefits. If YJ went on longer with the higher age rating the new season had this could be possible

I agree "everyone needs/deserves a redemption arc" is gay and stupid, but being a complete stone-cold psycho who doesn't care about anyone and, importantly, doesn't have any gimmick, gets old fast.

Characters that last like the Joker who are somewhat comparable in terms of being completely cold and irredeemable have a gimmick (and, like the Joker, even then they get old after a while). It's possible for a villain to be deeper than a puddle while still also being an evil prick. Sorta like Ra's Al-Ghul, who is 100% a sociopath who doesn't really care about people but he also has a specific goal and motivation in mind (and, while continuity-dependent, a somewhat reasonable goal on paper) which makes him interesting.

Just being a run-of-the-mill psychopath who gets off on hurting and betraying people is fine, but you can't really expect her to be used very much if that's the case since there's only so much you can do with such a character, ultimately any character like that effectively HAS to either be killed off or not appear after their main arc is over, or at least only sparingly.

Honestly, an anti-hero who is still a complete cunt, just one who happens to fright crime is somewhat rare and would be a good character archetype.

This sorta exists with stuff like Homelander and other "what if Superman were LE EVIL" type shit but Terra not being nearly as powerful as Superman ripoffs would certainly make it a lot more interesting.
