I really tried bubblebros, but season 2 is a no-go.
We could've been watching S2 episodes of Rainbow Bubblegem if EBS wasn't so stingy and actually allowed overseas subscribers.

The problem is this: in order to subscribe to EBS Anikids (the only official source for the original Korean eps of season 2), you need to be able to PAY for it, and that's impossible.
The payment methods are:
A) Korean credit-card -- during checkout this method asks for your Korean citizenship ID, you can't skip that step.
B) Naver Pay (the green icon) -- You need to create an account that MUST have been verified with a phone number, but their own SMS verification method doesn't work. Naver also lets you sign up through a Line.me account (a Korean messaging app), but the sign up for Line itself only uses phone verification if you're from Hong Kong/Japan/Korea/Taiwan/Thailand, and if you try to use a rented SMS number but with an overseas IP, the app notices this and bans you for a month.
C) KakaoTalk / KakaoPay (the yellow icon) -- This is the most promising one, but my circumstances didn't let me sign up as I've exhausted the time and will I had for this.

Are there any Koreanons around with an EBS Anikids account that I can borrow, so I could rip the episodes?
Can someone else try to make a KakaoTalk account and see if you can pay for an EBS subscription? I'll refund you if you're successful, as I'd be paying for it anyway if I could do it. 4900 won ($4 bucks) is a month of EBS, enough to get all of S2 eps.

I knew of Sinar Porong's uploads, they're a kind crew that literally recorded the broadcast episodes.
I'll start grabbing them right now, because what matter is the audio: if we have the Korean audio + clean footage from your (also kind) MEGA, it's a matter of muxing them together.
(There's a slight chance that they might desync because of different frame rates. If so, owari da...)

I also want to notice that there are some missing episodes that aren't in the Mega, coming from Episodes 17 to 20 from Season 2, the reason why is because the guy who uploaded the episodes in the first place and which i got the rips only got them as a camera recording. Also episode 14 is very low quality in terms that it doesn't have full video size.

No, Alex does appear again, but as a flashback and a important figure for the town the characters frequently visit. Because this season is more story-focused as the series found its identity as a magical girl show, there has been revealed some stuff of why Diamond got corrupted, and is because there is a Dark God who is controlling her and the girls have the objective to freed her from the new villain.

I think using mocap for the body + artist-animated faces are a nice combo.
The problem is really with the shoulders, you can tell when it's a bad quality mocap when the arms bend at the shoulders in unrealistic ways, instead of having the clavicle naturally taking over when the arm raises past a certain point (try doing the T pose in front of a mirror then slowly raise your arms, you'll see that your clavicle starts to help whenever your arms go anywhere above horizontal level).

We don't have much news about it yet.
I expected to hear new stuff of this at this year's Annecy that happened this week as CAKEEntertainment, the distributor, was present there in Wednesday and the only thing they got there was an interview taken from a business talk.
Maybe we're gonna hear new stuff from the international distribution of the show (and see if American networks like Discovery Kids Latam picks it up to dubbing it), once the season is finished, but so far there isn't any news.

Oh and that there is the thing of the partially lostmedia pilot of the series which a few clips and screenshots from it only seem available online, while the complete stuff seems to be nowhere to be found, althought with the previously mentioned evidence, there may be a chance it was present on the internet somewhere, and it could still be.

The footage in that one is clean but they have a much smaller resolution, so I don't know. If anyone's interested they can grab the video stream from those Chinese dub ones, and sync to the Korean audio from the watermarked ones.

Aye. The first episode (S02E01) was done with AssemblyAI Playground, the others were done with Turboscribe. Both are great AI transcription services that did it all for free, so go check 'em out.
Turboscribe seemed a bit more accurate, I'm thinking of redoing the subs for the first ep with it again for consistency with the others.
Nobody asked, but the process is: AI-transcribe the (Korean) audio which gives you a text file with separate timed words; use a Python script to recombine the separate timed words into timed sentences based on punctuation or whenever there's a large enough gap (>400ms); upload to Google Docs and translate the timed sentence document to English; use another Python script to reformat the (now English) timed sentences into an SRT subs file; clean it up and add lead-in/lead-out etc. in Aegisub; finally, watch it and disappoint yourself when it's still crap.

This thread lasted a decent amount of time. Not every show has threads that hit limit. That's just how it goes sometimes. That we had a thread that lasted a bit, got some subs to work with, and some news is a positive outcome either way. I'd think we should let this one run as far as it goes. To quote this, considering how popular this show are in South Korea, China and Indonesia, we sure might get a videogame about it, but not in the same quality as mosts indie games today (tho I'd like to have a Knuckles' Chaotix-like game about the Bubblegems with a refined play style).
The only thing it is possible to get is a movie about the series, maybe it could be an independent storyline based on the series or even a retelling of the show with a different setting and more budget animation where it's about the princesses first meeting. It could be something unexpected that aren't about those ideas that came up to my mind recently, tho I'd like to some of them happen if the series stays popular for a couple of years.
Also, i am not sure if there will be more after the third season as it looks like they'll close up some plots there, unless they show up more stuff to keep the series ongoing. Maybe the movie idea could be as a way to close some plotpoints and give the series to an end, or/and as an introduction to a new storyline.
There are many ideas to talk about, but I'm keeping away to the initial thing i wanted to say here lol.

It seems like my theory of the mermaids finally revealing to humans is becoming real according to this new ep. Unless they do a mindwipe thing in the next and final episode of s2.

Doing some tests with "faster-whisper" and the "large-v3" model on Google Colab, for transcribing the Korean episodes.
Seem to be more accurate than what I was using, or maybe it was just a lucky test.
