>>149008031Hey man, I don’t think I can tell you it gets better, because some days are easy others are hard. Don’t shoot for happiness, shoot for peace of mind. It ain’t easy, and it’s a soul search and then some to get in to it. I still have days where it’s harder than some, but that’s it, they’re just days. Take it one at a time, set a goal for each day, each week, each month to show you are accomplishing something.
A buddy of mine really believes in optimistic nihilism: nothing matters in life so I will choose what matters to me. I think it’s a pretty good thought to get behind, along with a lot of other modern philosophy. If you want some reading I can give you some recommendations on stuff that helped me organize my thoughts and make me more aware of something than just myself. It’s a lifelong process, something you’ll refine as you go along. It’s alright to be sad, it’s also alright to be happy, just don’t fall to far into the myth of “true happiness” when you can have a much more fulfilled life being you.
