These movies could've been good. They just needed better writers. There is some good CG animation, cinematography and music here, but the writing is very weak.

Easy to see why they both died quickly. Their movies didn't have very good writing (except for maybe Anastasia)

Would it have killed the writers to explain the backstory of this new character? Like, why did she run away from her parents? How did she get to the surface? Why did she lie to Hamegg and the other kids about being an orphan?

Nostalgia Critic really needs to review Astro Boy someday. He already reviewed TMNT back in the late 00s
