>>149012065, while tracking does take into account things like people viewing the trailers on a site like Fandango or where Regal or AMC forces you to go to a site to register for a contest for First Steps or Superman (or to see the trailer for "rewards" loyalty points, as Regal just did for Superman), they do take that into account, but it has nothing to do with actual SALES.
Also, as far as The Flash goes, there was a concerted, very active and very vocal, tremendously highly negative (call it anti-WOM) against the movie as the trailers were dropping, so even people interested in Batkeaton put off seeing it in theaters but saw it on HBO Max (or physical media/rentals, etc.).
There is a decent amount of negativity against First Steps, largely around Pascal, and there is a decent amount of negativity against Superman, largely Snyder cultists but also enough fanboys put off by various things, as is always the case with any genre effort, but neither is extensive (nor measuring extensively on the 'impressions' which are being reported to the suits at Buena Vista or at WB, although the fact that there really isn't any negative whisper campaign against Jurassic World may mean that it will benefit from what little mud slinging shit sticks to First Steps and/or Superman or both.
