I'm surprised how interest in the show evaporated when it brought in all the Poochies. Simpsons did that as a joke but FoP did it multiple times to stay fresh and it all failed. Then the series ended with barely anyone noticing and the end of the entire thing was the live action movies.

They did away with the ships. FOP was at its height and was literally beating Spongebob in the ratings when the Timmy/Trixie/Tootie love triangle was in full swing. Unironically the "I hate shipping" people got their wish and they were demonstrably wrong since removing this element of the show caused a ratings crash it never recovered from.

Other characters being removed hurt too. Simpsons went zombie enough, now imagine if most of Springfield was depopulated and every episode took place in Bart or Principal Skinner's room. That's what S9-10 FOP was.

Yeah basically this. Post-movie SpongeBob has had ups and downs over the seasons. Most episodes are mixed to bad but there’s still some good ones here and there. There was not a single good FoP episode after Channel Chasers. The show has been consistently terrible since.
