>>149025053 (OP)Cartoons, like comic books and video games, used to me made almost entirely by nerdy straight dudes up until the 2010s when all of these mediums started seeing an influx of new kinds of employees.
Namely, racial/gender/sexuality quota hires who are hyper political and lack talent, the autistic, and people who in general are more lame in comparison to the old school nerds.
These new people were mostly against traditional male-gaze sexuality in their media. So newer media is more likely to feature intentionally un-attractive female characters, and the absence of various tropes which these people have deemed harmful. Like catfights.
In comic books, which are the medium in question with the fastest turn around from concept to final product, we've seen this infiltration mostly die. Although comics are still far less horny than the were 20 years ago. (Granted back then the sexualization actually did come at the expense of good story telling, you couldn't get one serious panel of any female character; it was T&A like all the time.)
Most likely cartoons and video games will follow, although with how slow those are to come to market, the delay will be noted and 'woke' media will be predominant in those mediums for a few years more in all likelihood.
