Cartoon Network and Adult Swim will now be separate companies due the WBD split according to one of the people from AS who got fired
>>149027002 (OP)Does that mean they're gonna on different channels now? Or is it some weird custody shit like Paramount and Nickelodeon?
>>149027108Adult Swim and Cartoon Network are 2 separated channels in Canada and Latinamerica already
>>149027002 (OP)I wonder how this will affect Michael Ouweleen since he's obssesed with Adult Swim over Cartoon Network
Heck he has sent some CN shows to fucking Discovery Family than Cartoon Network
>>149027108Technically they've been separate channels for years for ratings purposes.
>>149027140The Canada version of AS is shit tho
I bet [as] gets spun off into a 24-hour station while Cartoon Network will shut down
They mentioned this in official press, this isn't some conspiracy only this fired AS employee knows
Anyway, likely way this turns out
>Cartoon Network dies before July 2026 and this becomes a 24/7 AS channel, so they don't have to acquire as big a library to rerun. They are already preparing it with CN not getting any new shows and Cartoonito ended
>However, it'll be a 24/7 AS rerun channel, meaning it won't get any new debuts or series ever again.
>Its backbone is licensing Family Guy and King of the Hill as they have agreed to it already. They will have to license some of the AS heavies like Rick and Morty and Smiling Friends for reruns, and might pick up some of the older programming if price is right to round out the schedule
>Will likely pick up some very weird cheap programming if avaliable, stuff not thought of as AS at all
>Toonami likely is continuing as is, picking up anime reruns in the budget, and might expand if that spreads out how much they spend for anime reruns. Would be on chopping block before whole channel if the budget is real tight
>This will put a end to the everchanging bumpers and interactive elements for all its content, as well as likely ending April Fools unless the remaining in charge sneak something in
>It continues until cable is collapsing and the new split company collapses under 30 billion in debt
>>149027002 (OP)>no more WB propertiesWait, so is CN totally dead now?
>>149027002 (OP)>Andy Griffith and the Honeymooners on Adult SwimAS is turning into Nick@Nite?
>>149027400It's been dead for years. The only shows in production at CNS are Fiona and Cake, Invincible Fight Girl, We Baby Bears and the Genndy shows (Primal/Unicorn)
>>149027002 (OP)>>149027108>>149027350I think you're misreading. I think it's saying that Adult-Swim AND Cartoon Network as a unit will be part of a separate company.
>>149027350Maybe not for the bumpers. Those have been made for free by SCAD students on the regular since about 2014 or so.
>>149027485Yep, CN/AS the channel are a part of the spinoff company with the other cable channels, while Cartoon Network Studios/Williams Street as production studios are a part of the WB movie studio, television and streaming half of the split.
I wish they'd bring back Boomerang
>>149027140Adult Swim latam beats the rest of them just by not having any FOX show on it at all
I can see them rebranding the Boomerang cable channel as Adult Swim to try to revive interest in it.
Didn't say it was going to work.
>>149031569There was also the canned standalone streaming service for cartoons called "Watertower"
>>149031554Based
>>149031569They could rebrand the channel to "Cartoon Cartoons" like they did with the Boomerang Youtube channel
>>149027002 (OP)I won't mind Cartoon Network dying, it had a good run
>>149027002 (OP)Adult Swim should have been its own channel long ago
>>149031643Adult Swim is a post-watershed hours block, what would they even show during the daylight hours?
>>149027140I fear adult swim is just gonna turn into an anime channel
>>149031521being able to watch classic popeye, HB and WB at 5am growing up is part of why I love cartoons so much
>>149027002 (OP)Are there any official sources on this yet? Or just randos on twitter?
>>149027108>>149027002 (OP)Holy shit you kids literally can't read
He's saying that with AS and CN split off from WB they've lost the rights to show basically anything that wasn't a CN/AS original and have lost all production capacity.
>>149031731You have MeTV Toons. That’s your Boomerang. Watch that.
>>149031849Sorry grandpa but you faggots didn't teach us shit and just sat at your desks all day with your Thundercats and TMNT shirts.
Not our faults your generation is lazy.
And why are you getting mad? I already got an explanation from
>>149027140You're just being a bitter old prick, go back to bingo or CNN or whatever you old fucks do
>>149031915>I have to have a paragraph long explanation explaining the history and entire saga of CN. Some of us have jobs grandpa.
You should get one too instead of rotting away on 4chan.
Boomerang wasn’t on their chart of channels being kept, potentially that one might die because it can’t work if they don’t have a feee library to take off of. Might become the new CN or simply be abandoned channel space
>>149030632MeTV Toons is basically Boomerang now, it’s not needed
>>149031569Adult Swim is the bigger brand now so if one moved over channel spaces it would be CN
>>149031884>Nothing is my fault, it's all the old people that wronged meMan you guys really did become the new Baby Boomers
>>149032006>I will repeat what the anon said before and make it look like they're the ones with problems and not me. I can see why Zoomers voted red.
You guys have no concept of reality and can't even define what a woman is.
>honeymooners on adult swim
Don't threaten me with a good time
>>149032071And overwhelmingly too.
Sorry we don't wanna spend 60 years working for a house grandpa.
>>149032030>Flintstones’ former parent network airing reruns of honeymooners on its late night blockThat’s some full circle shit
>>149027462And those will all be streaming exclusives. The ones that aren't already that is.
>>149028742That's an excellent point.
>>149031666Wouldn't be surprised.
>>149031996Boomerang is pointless now.
>>149027002 (OP)Do people still have cable? Genuinely asking.
>>149031666That's preferable to and endless stream of forgettable Tim and Eric clones
[AS] should have been its own channel anyway.
>>149032030So like, Flintstones but in 1950s New York?
>>149031666They could play some good niche anime
