Go back and read the original Marvel Preview/Spotlight stories, they're fun space opera. Then read Timothy Zahn's mini, which is cool and has great art. Then stop.

Just skip to Ewing's GotG run after all the DnA books are finished, nothing important happens between those two runs.

Yes, I liked that Warlock was randomly strong as hell in it. Couldve done without the random Blue Capn America, and Drax was so FUCKING lame. His daughter and her lesbo lover too. Not even in a homophobia way, they would just NEVER SHUTUP about family, love, loving each other, and making deal with oblivion cause love ans blahblah. And Deax never shutting up about how he is a cool strong destroyer that must kill thanos, really he’s just random buff guy with two knives and 3 IQ. Gamora was hot and schizo though.

Really? It’s been so long and they haven’t made anything good? Why? The video game was kino, and the first two movies were surprisingly enjoyable, especially the 2nd. Havent seen the third. Bit disappointed

you can read the other Dan Abnett GotG books he did, like Guardians 3000, Guardians of Infinity, and he did a Groot mini a couple of years back, but they don't matter since other writers generally ignore his stuff.

There was a good 5 years in between the Guardians comic and the first film, and during that time no one knew what to do with him. By the time the 2nd movie came out he was already the king of his own planet and married to Kitty Pryde in the comics, so they had kind of written themselves into a very stupid corner by the time he became popular.

You can blame Bendis for that.
Writing GotG was a pure Ego thing for him, as he didn't care about the characters, their history or Cosmic Marvel in general.
He just wanted to have the longest run on the title for whatever reason

…Huh? Kitty fucking Pryde? What? What’s she doing in space? I thought random 70’s Shiar-Brood-Kree-whatever antics of space-x-men were over. Also she’s like half his age. I guess they retconned him to be 27 and retarded just like Pratt. Don’t get me wrong I LIKE stupidity-Lord, but only in the movies and rivals, I wouldn’t want to read a whole comic line about quips and being a manbaby. In GOTG/Annhilus/Cancerverse he was legitimately a cool merc dude just doing the best he could with a team of random retards and saved our whole universe. Also what about Gamora? Isn’t Kitty with some other m*tie? That’s so….what?

Matter of fact how did he even get out of the cthuluverse and not die to thanos?

Like the other guy said, skip to Ewing GotG. If you're a fan of Rich, I'd say check out the Black Order mini series from 2020. That was the coolest thing he's been in since he came back.

I'm still bitterly disappointed Rich was never allowed to be in the MCU during its heyday.

4 issues deep into Ewing, I like it so far. Completely forgot Marvel had Greeks outside of Herc though because Asgardians have been what I think of when I think marvel gods for forever. someone call in thor or alpha ray bill to handle these losers

and yeah that picrel was peak, Nova’s ass was on borrowed time since Xandar anyway and Quill needed to die to close it off I think, he was always just a random Jimmy doing his best

Thor and Beta Ray were Busy at the time in Cates' run of Thor, where they were at each other's throats, so they weren't available to handle it
It's why Peter and Rich both say "Then it's Us" a lot during Ewing run as no one else is available

Nova's going to have a one-shot in Imperial. So if that does well enough, fingers crossed, he might get something again
I personally dislike Sam, so I hope we don't have to see Rich paired with him again for a long time. The black helmets are a bullshit retcon

Just be glad he’s not currently in it. I haven’t sat down and watched a full movie end to end in a while, but jesus, what a clusterfuck.

If it helps he was in UMVC3, what I’d consider a “blueprint” for the MCU, but I wouldn’t actually advocate playing the game.

Most FG players are like train and plane enthusiasts: autists, so you end up playing because “wow hulk cool, wow Ryu street fighter cool” and then you get touched once and get to watch a cutscene of your guy getting raped until round is over. I kid you not, in Street Fighter 6 once I lose the first interaction I usually put thr controller down and alt tab. I know I’m rambling, but I really cant stress enough how much you shouldn’t actually play the fighting game. Just look up clips on youtube, he’s got good intro lines and cool looking moves. He’s a bit less grizzled and depressed in the game, but still Nova-y.

I will read that one black order comic the other guy said, hopefully my wife black swan is in it

Yeah, that's another disheartening worry of mine. I feel like if he did get a movie now, it'd do very poorly and get made fun of like Thunderbolts. Hell, I'd skip it too.
He was in MvCI too, and I was really hoping things would turn around for him when he got in that game, but nope. Couldn't even get a fucking comic out of it.

No soul. Writers just want to take their favorite characters and have them stand next to the GotG so they can be cool. It's why Kitty Pryde and Ghost Rider were in the Bendis and Cates runs.

Reminds me of Immortal Hulk, all mind-thinky and good in weird ways. That was really awesome. Reminds me why I hope Nova never gets an MCU dumbing-down.

I really think they should give Nova cyberpunk sci-fi thriller and make it like Blade Runner. Adam Warlock is basically a fucking replicant, and his relation with Worldmind is perfect for what Johnny and V have in Cyberpunk 2077
I fucking promise it would be the hit Disney so desperately needs right now.

Yeah, but there’d need to be lots of violence, the normal kind and the sexual/psycho kind. And sadness! And upending of status quos! Some sort of Edgerunners/BR mix with Nova investigating Roxxon/Hammer/Stark-Fujikawa or something in space.

But it’d have to be under MAX which I think they stopped doing so nevermind.
