OG Kinnikihuman started out as a comedy with fart jokes and other silly shit but be ones serious when Robin Mask and Warsman show up but still has silly comedy sprinkled in.

You wanna know what's crazy, Funimation literally coerced them into making the uncut dub of Yu-Gi-Oh and 4kids got in huge trouble by the original Japanese studio over it to the point that lost the rights for a few years, and now Konami guards the IP like Fort Knox.
I know Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal was gonna get dubbed by Bang Zoom and they were even working closely with the animation studio and they were gonna reanimate all the lip flaps to match the English audio, but 4kids was able to get the rights back somehow so that version of the dub got scrapped.

Vic Mignogna can go fuck himself for teasing Mari Ijima over Arihiro Hase's relationship with her and bringing up his death and talking about how his suicide meant he was going to hell on the Macross dub commentary track.

For those that don't know, Ijima reprised her role as Lynn Minmay on the US dub. She mentioned being close to Arihiro and Vic teased her about them having a romantic relationship(which is speculated to have happened, or possibly something unrequited). Mari is clearly uncomfortable replying about it, and then explains that he died awhile ago and under such circumstances. Vic then goes into a not-so-subtle tangent about how suicides are damned and how he must've killed himself over her(which may not be that far from the truth)

Fox Kids had an amazing run in the early to mid 90's, and had some of the biggest shows of the era. Power Rangers, BTAS, and X-men/Spider-man alone are all tentpoles, let alone all their other shows. And in the late 90's they spearheaded more anime dubs for kids. As much grief as Saban dubbing gets, they still made it clear that Digimon's cast were Japanese and the Earth segments took place in Japan. Plus more American shows like Godzilla, Big Guy and Rusty, and the Tick that had very clever writing.
FoxBox/4kids TV meant well, but was always fighting in a dying marketed and severely limited by budget. as much hate as their dubs get, they were trying to get kids anime on national TV to be watched by kids. No, it was Saban. Another anecdote: when Saban went to Toei to ask for Digimon Fusion, Toei (again) forced them to also take two of the Pretty Cure shows.

They copyrighted a ''Power Rider'' brand for about 5 minutes to adapt one of the at the time, newer KR shows, but went nowhere, then Hashbro got PR and wasted it, now they keep flip floppin whatever they reboot PR with yet more MMPR nostalgia wank or just kill the IP.
