I think you forgot how Murder Drones blew up after Episode 7. Like, I remember eps 4-6 barely hit 1.5M views on day one, and usually only pulled in about 5M a month. Ep7 was the fastest to reach 10M views and Ep8 had the fastest growth rate overall.

I don't think that's accurate. Murder Drones episodes reached like 10+ million views after a month around Episode 4. Episode 4 and 5 is where the ball really started rolling.

After that views quickly got to around 20 million, and the reason Episode 7 and 8 was such a burst of inmediate views upon release was because there was a huge 7 month wait and people were desperate for the episodes.
Each successive episode reached a certain amount of views faster than the last one. That's just how shows build up as they gain hype.

Murder Drones is less "gross" and grimey with its hyper-violence and sleek dark-scifi aesthetic with cyber - Dead Space eldritch horror. So I guess it depends on whether you don't mind things being purposefully gross in GD.
But, the main character of Gaslight District (Mel) is voiced by the same VA as Cyn / Absolute Solver so there's a different reason to watch I guess.

The plot wasn't that intriguing to me. I wasn't left with the urge to want another episode, it felt like people only watched it because it was just put out by Glitch. Visually, there are nice moments but overall, it's an ugly and grimey looking show which really limits broader appeal online. They tried to compensate by having le cute marketable gurl protag who isn't too ugly yet still matches with the world. But that alone wasn't enough to propell it higher. I think this one is going to end up as more of a flop compared to MD and TADC. Which must suck for the creator

First episode was trying too hard, had about three episodes worth of content crammed into 20 minutes. They wanted to have their action scene and their lore AND their status quo shakeup all happen within the first episode. It's an impressive piece of work but it isn't a good piece of work by any means. I think the only way to fix it is to go back and make a single 20 minute episode that is just the chase part at the start which introduces the characters, and then make another 20 minute episode that takes place at the heaven place, and so on. But that's not going to happen.

Murder Drones eps are more like 35 million per ep. Gaslight District has been stuck at 16 million for weeks.

Murder Drones' pilot episode got 60+ million views over around a year or so. Subsequent episodes of the show average at like 30 million views per episode.
The Amazing Digital Circus's pilot got 300+ million views over a year or so. Subsequent episodes are on track with the views gradually settling to around 50 - 70 million views per episode.

Literally anyone can see the pattern here, and it's completely normal with any series like this. From Gaslight District's pilot performance, GD will be fine. Using Digital Circus, something that went VIRAL, as a bar for comparison is utterly retarded. Murder Drones isn't anywhere near as viral as Digital Circus, but that show was still a big success.
Gaslight District won't "flop" - unless, like I said, it somehow gets less than 10 million views per episode. Which I highly doubt.

Honestly I feel this, it's a good way of explaining what sets apart marketing for indie animation vs marketing for big-budget productions. The former really does demand a lot more out of the showrunner for audiences to feel their project is worth supporting, even subconsciously.
