Gay idea no. 1
Prohibition era
The mayor son is a loud flamboyant party animal. One day while at a club he accidentally spills a drink on a mobster and refuses to apologize. Loud and drunk "do you know who my daddy is!" And is promptly kidnapped and held for ransom.
While the gangster are out making the plans, a young inexperienced gangster is told to keep an eye on him. Having grown up in a tough homophobic family he's never explored his actually feeling before and the mayor son notices him making eyes at him. He slowly begins to seduce him which if the gangster has any experience would be super obvious.
Meanwhile the mayor is actually tired of his son and takes this as an opportunity not to bail his son out for the umph-teen time, but instead pays double for the gangster to get rid of his embarrassment.
So qord down the grapevine reaches the gangster to off the mayor son. He pulls out the gun, but can't actually get himself to pull the trigger knowing the son hasn't done anything to deserve cement shoes.
The story would be the two of them on. The lime with the gangster learning to explore who he really is, and the son learning what it truly means to care about someone other than yourself.
