Power Man: Timeless #4 Storytime
β€œFOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, THE POWER'S THE ONLY REAL FRIEND YOU'RE EVER GONNA HAVE.” – ROBERT REYNOLDS

The skill of the Iron Fist, the rage of the Hulk, and the might of the Sentry have all failed against Aeon the Knife. As Aeon prepares for his assault on Earth, Power Man must consider unleashing the final power available to him: the darkness of the Void. But is Luke Cage trading one monster for another?

>sold so bad to cut the fifth chapter and rushed the ending
I haven't seen a book bomb this bad since the crew got cancelled after two chapters. That also had luke cage in it.

Wasn't "Timeless" supposed to be some sort of event built around Kang (back when they thought he would be the new big bad of this MCU phase)?

What a dumb pointless book. Just more of the same action figure combo power wank that has infected Marvel since Loeb gave us "Red" Hulk

Lanzig & Kelly suck so much. I don't think they've ever written a good book. I can't believe their books require *two writers*

They come off as some low-rent Los Angelese duo trying to make it as screenwriters and they don't know shit about comics but they know the MCU and write around that

No the Timeless books have mostly just been stand-alone specials released at the end of the year to promote future comics
They dropped Kang in the third one and instead focused it on this Luke Cage from an alternate future that ended with him getting booted to the present day, this miniseries just wrapped up that loose plotline

im not surprised this bomb.
it's a book for no one about either alternate universe characters or OCs that writers just made up.
Some interesting ideas, but those ideas are just concepts pitched from other Marvel books like Earth X or SHIELD.

Why's Marvel like this?

Didn't seem rushed to me because these writers are much better thn the hack that wrote the last Sentry mini, an actual all around bomb. 4 issues are fine nowadays. Did you want an extra issue with Aeon? Nothing wrong with an omnicidal maniac villain every once in a while, but the guy was already stretched thin by issue 3.

Largely Celestial shit had no explanation and was just happening in the background. It never really explained why Aeon was targeting the celestials, or arakko. Also the interview implied there was more to why he was wearing the armor and why he has cuts all over his body. It doesn't even explain how luke hijacked the celestial he just does. The only decent thing was pushing void back into his darker inner thoughts role. Instead of the angel of death/eldritch being bullshit they have been pushing since Bendis. Basically it set up too many problems at once and solved them in rather unsatisfactory ways.

What is there to explain? Aeon only lives to fight and kill strong opponents because that's the only life he knows, like a cosmic, more omnicidal version of Akuma, Celestials wouldn't be excluded. And he's stitched all over like the Frankenstein monster, in case it wasn't clear from before he was traumatized from human experiments.

And it's called development, stuff in comics, shows and movies get all kinds of stuff cut off all the time, before even the first comic came out they said Aeon's sword would become Moon-sized and they didn't do it for whatever reason. And Aeon removed his armor because he was disgusted by humans and wanted to make them suffer more, that was clear enough and Luke wasn't going to stand for it. Luke had a breakthrough and became Sentry One Million, at that point punching into and getting a Celestial's powers is par for the course.

They don't care. They were always intending to make a comic inspired on shonenshit, which people brag outsell western capeshit, and they are famous for raising the levels of the leads a million times and no one cares.

>And he's stitched all over like the Frankenstein monster, in case it wasn't clear from before he was traumatized from human experiments.
Except he wasn't. He just slapped with terrigen, the cuts were from his power.
>That suit he’s wearing, it holds him together. Because to even touch any part of Aeon is to be sundered and severed and cut to ribbons
That's from their first interview. His powers were fucking him up too and taking the suit off was suppose to be a big deal and yet it added nothing to this fight. I'm not even blaming the writers, it's just obvious that they had more planned but were forced to cut it.

They showed in a flashback he was held to the ground with some kind of Kree cattle prod in order to graft the Darth Vader armor in him and he looked in pain, it's clear invasive stuff was done on him, and Eversight being kidnapped by a Celestial should have been intentional to that theme. Aeon's history is also why Luke related to him and gave him as many chances as he could before realizing he was a lost cause.
