>Legendary Spider-Scribe J.M. DeMATTEIS and rising star artist JIM TOWE bring you the return you’ve all been waiting thirty years for! And you’re never going to expect the twists and turns ahead for your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! Break out your action figures, and post up in front of the TV as we bring you back to the greatest era of animated super hero television in history!

>DeMatteis said, "The 1990s Spider-Man animated series has become a beloved part of Spidey lore—it was the introduction to Peter Parker and his universe for an entire generation—and I’m delighted to be diving back into that universe.

>"We’re treating this as the next season of the show, which means introducing new villains, new challenges, new adventures for Peter," he continued, "while doing our best to remain true to the creative spirit that John Semper and Company established with the original show."

They had the guts to get the animated X-Men back and make a cameo for Peter and MJ in the season's finale, BUT THEY COULDN'T DO IT FOR SPIDER-MAN'S SERIES!!!

And... Hold on, wait a minute!!! That guy behind Black Cat... Is that... MORLUN?!!!

According to descriptions, the Spider-Man on Earth turns ruthless and violent. I wonder if he will go as far as giving a beating payback on Tombstone. (I would LOVE to see that).

I don't think it will be restricted to the same level as the 90's TV airing, given they let the '97 show be more mature.
That said I don't think Morlun was ever that intimidating that he'd have to go past PG-13

Yeah, that feels a lot like how Batman The Adventure Continue had to work in Red Hood and Court of Owls into The New Batman Adventures, though at least DC had the courtesy to bring in Paul Dini and Alan Burnett for it even if it was some of their worst work. Decades later and Marvel's still following Batman's lead with Spider-Man.

Go ahead and cry spider fags we X-fags have reason to laugh at you hard. this is what we got not some lazy half ass comic continuation

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L7fNV296h0

You are the laughing stock of all for all time. This is where X-Men beats you for good and the best part is we are getting a second and third seaon of it while you get nothing but a crummy comic. Thus that proves once and for all that X-Men is more popular then Spider-Man game over.

Yeah I don't think the artists working on the cartoon didn't really grasp how the symbiote faces were supposed to look. Even Venom suffers from the big lips and from a small case of butt head.

The comic was written years before the cartoon was made and besides none of the elements from the comic were used in the show. At any now that Spider-Man '94 is being made into a comic rather then a cartoon show it only gives marvel one less reason to make a show of it all. given the conclusion of it will be done in a comic book format.

A weakness of JMD's is that he can only ever write like himself. Lost Hunt's take on Gregor was nothing like Mackie's whatsoever. Shadow of the Green Goblin was also nothing like Mackie's -1 Spider-Man issue, let alone anything resembling the Lee/Ditko era in which it took place. His Ben Reilly mini introduced pathos to Spidercide, a clone who was originally written as just plain goofy evil and not at all like Peter Parker. This won't feel like a continuation of the cartoon, it will be JMD's own depressing take on the cartoon.

Spidercide started off as a clone in a Pod.
The Pod was damaged in a fight which is why Cide had memory loss.
He felt something but had snippets of memories which led him to Forest Hills.
When he saw a newspaper, he knew where to go and when he got the Aunt May's house, his memories came back.
Then Ben and Pete found him, they fought, the sewer exploded and he got hurt.
Miles then fixed him up and tinkered with him turning him from deformed FreakFace back to normal. Then Miles releases a virus with Cide's help and Cide dons a new look after.
