The animation of koth was one of the best parts of the original show. Now that it moves like every other adult animated show, it immediately lost some of it's charm.
Anonymous
6/18/2025, 7:27:54 PM No.149057228
For me, it isn't the quality of the animation that's off, it's the artwork and coloring itself. The animation is a little bit worse than KOTH's final seasons, but it feels more like the colors and lines look that are throwing me off. It is way too clean. Older KOTH had a sort of warmer look to it, the way this is colored feels sterile and digital in ways that even the final seasons of the original show did not.

And yet he still did, that was the point, begrudgingly and reluctantly doing it anyway. He'd likely abstain in 2016 and 2020, but one of the key factors in the 2024 win was Dems simply pushing everyone even the slightest bit neutral away with their bullshit, and I feel like Hank would fall into the category of "getting so annoyed with the kind of shit Dems are pushing that's completely disconnected with the population so will vote for orange man in response." This isn't a genuine support for drumpf sceneario, it's a general disdain for modern Dems scenario.

I know what you mean. Almost like crayon or coloured pencil. Actually, I used to draw and "paint" using actual makeup, figuring I'd get much better flesh colours than using other mediums and KOTH kinda reminded me of that. This looks like MS Paint paintcan colouring.

> Shut the door, Hank, sit down—we’re about to change your life. Now, you ever heard of Aramco? Big Saudi outfit.
> Oil wells, skyscrapers, falcons—real high-roller stuff. But get this: they’re lookin’ to bring in propane. And guess who they came to?
> I told ‘em, ‘You want the job done right, you call Hank Hill. Man runs a clean line, cooks a clean steak, and salutes the flag while he’s doin’ it.’
> They ate it up, old top. Next thing I know, we’re lookin’ at a full consultant package—housing, benefits, hazard pay, the whole nine yards.
> Now listen, this ain’t just a gig. This is legacy work. You go over there, teach those folks how to use propane the right way, and in a few years—bam. You’re retired.
> Paid off house, nice little nest egg, Peggy sittin’ pretty, maybe even a boat if you squint.
> I’m tellin’ ya, old top—this is the deal that puts your feet up for good.
> You’d be promotin’ Strickland values internationally, and when it’s all said and done, you can come back to Arlen, retire with dignity, and fire up the grill with a story no one else can top.

Seeing animation like this pisses me off because I know normies will think it looks just like the show before when that's clearly not the case even for the later seasons. Like when Peggy's walking forward and her lifeless robotic arm pivots back and forth, yet people shit on Family Guy's animation (rightfully) with that one clip of Joe at the table with the family briffins and zooming all the way in on their arms pivoting. This is even worse than Family Guy. It's like if Family Guy was nothing but those "and then their head slowly tilts sideways to show emotional sincerity" moments. Fuck man.

I feel like people like you are going to have too much ammo for dumb shit like this just because the writing/flanderization has gotten worse in the reboot for the sake of bad/easy humor which makes Hank look even less like his own character and more these specific templates about being an old boomer. So far all the jokes are fucking pisspoor.
>what are you guys talking about, beer?
>yes
>i was joking
>i don't get it!
>come give your father a nice big... handshake!
>peggy just passively saying she wants to kill herself because of dealing with hank at the museum
>peggy saying "you gotta be FUCKING kidding me!" is apparently considered humor judging from the con trailer and audience applause
>the joke about hank being sentimental about traditionalism being boiled down to a young character literally just saying "look at me im OLD!" in response while doing generic geezer arm poses
like nothing about this shit is funny, it's all the most basic, predictable humor possible. it's bad when bobby saying "nut... sack" in a determined, studying manner is the only chuckle they can find for 3 different promos when you know they're scrounging for top gags for promos like always. the line you're using to discuss hank's entire character exists just because of the shitty "hank asks an overly detailed specific question because he's so passionate" gag. they used to do so much better.

I had a dream last night where for some reason John Redcorn was trying to do an honorable death thing and was wanting Hank to do it for him, and I can't remember if it ever got to the point it was going to show how Hank was going to do that, but the scene was leading up to it like they were really going to. I kept thinking "what the fuck did they do to this show? they've completely got it wrong" and then Peggy did something that caused blood on going down from her ears or something for a gag. Her saying "I wanna kill myself!" in this clip makes me think my delusional paranoia was 5% right.

That's not how it works, there's always been low effort/low budget shit. And its always been more plentiful than the goid stuff.

Most of the goofy colorful speech patterns the show lovingly pokes fun at are unfortunately going extinct irl. I expect younger writers simply have no exposure to anything like that and wouldn't be able to do authentic sounding dialogue for it if they wanted to.

So is Toby Huss going to keep voicing Dale or just long enough to write Dale out of the show?

Likely Trump but he'd had an extensive reasoning for doing so and 4chan only allows so many characters in a post

Animation's fine. That's what happens when its on high quality streaming. Old shows got their "added effects" from low quality grainy screens. Makes me wonder what those original shows would've looked like if they were 1:1 ultra crisp with no degredation on high quality screens. Bet the outlines would look real funny and the uneven paint on the cells would be really noticable.

Other stuff that comes to mind is the rick and morty anime spinoff, dora also getting a cgi reboot like rugrats did, then the plethora of sequels like zootopia 2, incredibles 3, frozen 3 AND 4, toy story 5, shrek 5, ice age 6, the industry is fucking abysmal. the original stuff has zero ambition and if it ever does you never manage to hear about it because it ends up niche
