Early quino comics had a different feel to the ones he did later in his life. More slapstick and absurd situations, less text (or none at all) and imo a better art style. Also he poked fun about heavy subjects still focusing on the humor. Compare to >>149062563 and >>149062608 for example, a lot of the humor ans snappiness is gone.

This thread made me realize that I hardly see this kind of humor (dealing with serious problems of mankind/society) dealt in comics nowadays. Maybe we have grown more pessimistic as a whole.
