My headcanon is that the government started enforcing a zero tolerance death penalty on any supervillainy, scaring small fries like Bomb Voyage off. The bigger villains got hunted down by the FBI and assassinated and had their assets seized . It took a lot of money and pissed off a lot of taxpayers but hey a world without s*pers ain't free.

The whole point of the beginning of the second movie was that modern corporations were fine with supervillainy as long as their insurance covered damages, which doesn't help the common man, but since when has corporations ever cared about the plight of the common man (that guy getting mugged outside Bob's boss's window for example).

Writers don't know how to answer this, so they just have the supervillains stop for no real reason. I really want a satirical story where super heroes are outlawed, so villains absolutely fuck up society because now its easy for them to do it.

It would be like Civil War, but instead of heroes going against each other, it'd be the government trying to assure everyone that they can take FUCKING MAGNETO without the X-Men or Charles interfering and slowly watch as people suffer and die because holy shit what can you do. At that point though, I think they'd launch some government engineered super "hero".

I actually think Bob's boss was right in that case. If Bob wanted to help the guy, he should have ran out and did it or called the cops. Its not like Bob's boss can just condone him running out and beating ass on company time. And why did Bob need permission anyway? As soon as his boss said "no", he could have just did it and lost his job.

That's why insane villains are so popular. They can pull both off and it doesn't feel out of character clash with either side. Syndrome grew up hating his idol and turning his dream on its head and it unhinged him while he continued to develop his genius and became a mass murderer. And then his plan falls apart in multiple ways.

No. Nearly everything about the first was better, even visually at times despite the gap in tech the art direction was top notch. The grounded yet sleek retro futuristic look can't be beat by the 50s kitsch they went for in the sequel. I loved have drab and boring everything and everyone looked in the Paar's day to day civilian lives looked, it really helped them stand out.

Always bothers me he says "You got me monologuing" instead of "You caught me monologuing", Mr.Incredible's apology wasn't prompting a monologue, it's not like he asked "Why are you trying to kill me/What happened to you/How is this possible?" or anything.
I guess maybe it's to show how he deludedly projects his faults onto others, but it always felt less sensible than him commending Bob for instinctively seizing a natural opportunity a Superhero would face even after years off the field.

This has always been a technicality, Blazestone was not exactly a villain but was considered too volatile without constant watch, Psycwave similarly misused her abilities in morally questionable fashion before she decided on a whim to try using them for heroics, Gamma Jack is also infamously recalled for having unnerving opinions about the hierarchy of their world.
So there's nothing to really clarify whether supervillains exist or not.

It's passed off as annoying little kid antics, but Dash is a recent example, he uses his abilities to torment his helpless teacher and own sister for no reason other than he can. Without the guidance of his superhero parents there's nothing to suggest he wouldn't have continued with indifference since no one but Violet, Syndrome and the Omnidroid could really give him trouble, Brad Bird appears to use Supers as allegories for superior individuals, but never suggests the Supers are always innately morally superior.

Fuck I think they based Syndrome's design on Chunk, the paradigm of goofy ignored sidekicks.

He would've died, his powers don't work if there's no moisture in the air, this was established when he and Bob are in a burning building and Bob yells at him to put out the fire.
>Can't you put this out?!
>I can't lay down a layer thick enough, it's evaporating too fast!
>What's that mean?!
>It means it's hot! And I'm dehydrated, Bob!
>You're outta ice?! You can't run out of ice, I thought you can use the water in the air!
>There is no water in this air! What's your excuse, RUN OUTTA MUSCLE?!

I know a girl who looks like him. She has a syndrome, too, specifically Downs. Because they look so much alike, I just found him amusing rather than menacing.

He looks like a Disney animator to me, can’t remember which one though, but I’m certain I’ve seen a caricature that looks exactly like Syndrome and it was from a Disney documentary

Pretty badly all things considered. He's playing decoy and distraction in the final showdown with the big one. Although that one is bigger it's still very much the same Omnidroid that Bob beat right down to its weakness. If he ever got driven down to the lava-bed he was as good as dead. He can only play keep away with it for so long. He was gonna die.

The problem wasn't that the stakes were lower though...
