>I came by to talk about the party
>Iโm really looking forward to it, Max
>Yeah, I was, too
>Was?
>Well, you see my dadโs on this stupid father/son kick, and-
>Oh, donโt worry about it, Max. Itโs just a dumb party
>No, itโs not. Roxanne, I really wanted to go with you. I...
>No, Max, I understand. Really, it's okay, these things happen...
>My dad surprised me, I donโt even wanna go, but I have no choice
>Iโm sure I can find someone else
>....Someone else?
>Iโll just talk to you later
What was her problem?
>>149069634 (OP)It's teenage hormones.
Roxanne doesn't wanna get hurt and you already know what Max's perspective is.
>>149069634 (OP)made for being stolen away by human men who do the bare minimum
>>149069634 (OP)They're both awkward teenagers that spill their spaghetti and misunderstand one another. It's not that unbelievable that she thinks Max is just having second thoughts and blowing her off since they're both young and everybody, you, me, your parents, mine, were different shades of fucking retarded and emotionally charged at that age to the point we misunderstood simple situations
Remember the time when women felt THE NEED to find a man as quickly as possible at a degenerate place like a party or anywhere like in a park and they treated it like it was their last chance to ever find a dick?
Nowadays they wait for prince charming till they crumble to dust and their cats eat them.
>>149069706Kinda dumb of her to think that Max is having second thoughts. He just pulled that epic stunt to impress her a few hours ago (and flirted with her during the stunt), plus it was him who invited her to the party.
>Goofy and his amorous teenage son clash after the boy succeeds at school by imitating the hottest rock singer. Goofy tries to fix the situation by taking his son on a long trip across the United States
>This time, Disney has made a mistake: it has tried to modernize its style, resulting in a boring musical TV quality film that aims to win over young audiences by making ridiculous concessions to a superficial and consumerist lifestyle. To keep things politically correct, the father-son conflict is poorly resolved in the end; but even then, the film doesn't achieve even the slightest significance

So why was the room covered with pizza slices?
>>149070001it's a cum allegory
>>149069634 (OP)>op starts remembering all the embarrassing and awkward things they did as a teen and find the largest bottle of booze they can find
Why don't Peg and Pistol exist in this movie?
This is a pretty rushed/unsatisfying "coming out clean" scene. Max didn't even tell her that he was originally going on a fishing trip

>>149070146They were made examples of so PJ would continue to respect Pete.
It bothers me how they didn't have Max unfasten the seat belt
>>149069760There's a scene where she's super-nervous to even talk to Max and needs her stacy friend Stacy to push her into it, so her losing confidence when something goes wrong (and Stacy isn't around this time to back her up) makes sense.
>>149069806What the fuck does that even mean?
>>149070146Murder/suicide.
Was she even in the same classroom as Max? They never mention that
>>149069711>Nowadays they wait for prince charming till they crumble to dust and their cats eat them.Lol nah. The download a dating app and find some chad and fuck him.
Imagine a cartoon based around that
>>149070632Exactly. People act like media literacy being dead is a new thing, this was super obvious to anyone watching the movie back in the day. You people can't even pick up on something this basic and clear? HA. No wonder you watch dogshit like Steven Universe.
>>149070632But why would she go to the party with someone else if she already liked him?
>>149070920She thinks she's being rejected and is trying to save face.
>>149070942Didn't she see Goofy's car full of luggage? That was proof that Max wasn't cancelling the date because he was rejecting her
>>149070920It's obvious you have never interacted with a girl before.
>>149070595The car is so beat up and melted at that point the seat belt probably doesn't even latch, man
>>149071113Why even have it there then?
My advice? Once you finish with Lion King, skip this movie and jump straight to Pocahontas. You aren't missing a well-crafted storyline.
I really wish they'd bring back IP counts. Between this thread and the other one, I'm convinced at this point it's just one guy with an axe to grind repeatedly dogging on the movie. It's the same posting style every time.
>>149070146Iwish the show was always this well drawn
I wonder if this was done by the Australian studio
There's gotta be a reason why this movie flopped. Reminder that this was the next movie after the incredibly successful Beauty/Aladdin/Lion King trio, plus that Disney had no competition whatsoever at the time.
>>149071416Did it flop? Never saw it in theaters, I just remember it being the defacto "movie day" movie during elementary school. I swear I saw this movie at least 10 times at school.
>>149072275>less than 40 million worldwideIt did
>>149070146I always figured they got a divorce and she took their daughter with them between the events of the show and the movie.
>>149072310Definitely a underperformed compared to movies like The Lion King which made more than 10x as much as Goofy Movie, but it still turned a profit. The movie's budget was around $18 million.
>>149072454*It definitely underperformed
I have a memory of going to the video store to rent this, and this creepy guy spying on my younger sister.
She looks awful in this bit
>>149069634 (OP)I wonder if Max wouldโve had an easier time enjoying the trip with his dad if Roxanne was never interested in him.
>>149072738Nah, for him to have an easier time enjoying the trip, he'd have to be not interested in Roxanne. If she wasn't interested in him, he'd just be suffering regardless of whether or not he went on the trip.
>>149069634 (OP)Max lies to her and gets away with it leaving her to think he was being honest the entire time. Maybe that came up and it's why they broke up before the sequel.
>>149070062Why did OP repost this as a separate thread?
>>149070062
>>149072777What he left out wouldnโt be grounds for a break-up, they were minor details.
If you really think about it, Max was choosing between his dad and Roxanne in this scene. The fact that he chose to go left speaks for itself, thatโs true love right there.
None of this matters, Max fumbles her hard later on anyway before the second movie.
I can't stand the storyline that Jymn Magon came up for this movie. I think it's garbage.
In order to move the storyline forward, the writers needed Goofy to find out that Max changed the map. Of all the ways they could've made that happen, this was the best way that they could come up with.

>>149069634 (OP)In the comic, she cucks Max for Chad. In the movie, she cucks Max for Bobby (hence, the cheese bukkake scene). He should have just gone to the party if he truly wanted to impress Roxanne.

2: Why wouldn't you also skip Pocahontas if you don't want to watch subpar movie in this scenario?
>"And also that I hope you can all attend my totally amazing end-of-school party next saturday to watch the Powerline concert live on pay-per-view"
Max and Goofy somehow did that long journey across the country in just a few days (Stacey says that the concert is next saturday)
>>149073313Ohio to LA is a 33 hour drive. Even with the stops they made along the way itโs reasonable to assume that they wouldโve made it to LA by Saturday regardless.

There is no way in hell that A Goofy Movie compares in quality to the other animation movies that Disney was releasing in theaters during that era
>>149069634 (OP)Nothing because if Max actually loved her he'd do everything to go to that party and not be forced to go on some stupid camping trip.
>>149071416It's a tween summer road trip movie based off a kids Saturday morning cartoon show that was already well past it's peak.
>>149073444>>149071173Goofy Movie CLEARS Pocahontas easily.
>The Little Mermaid
>DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp
>The Rescuers Down Under
>Beauty and the Beast
>Aladdin
>The Nightmare Before Christmas
>The Lion King
>A Goofy Movie
>Pocahontas
>Toy Story
>James and the Giant Peach
>The Hunchback of Notre Dame
>Hercules
>Mulan
>A Bug's Life
>Doug's 1st Movie
>Tarzan
>Toy Story 2
All the theatrical animation Disney movies that came out in 1989-1999. I personally think that AGM is one of the weakest movies of that bunch.
>>149073700Movies I would place below Goofy Movie
>Pocahontas>A Bug's Life>Doug's 1st Movie>TarzanTempted to put Hunchback too because the lows are fucking abysmal but the highs are so damn good.
>>149073844Thought I was alone in thinking Tarzan was not impressive. For one thing I don't like Disney's design for Tarzan he has a weird long chin. And in general he's way too skinny. Tarzan has more in common with Conan the Barbarian muscle wise. So when I saw Disney's Tarzan I was like "Who's this twink?" And his hair dread looked silly.
And since Disney typically waters down things Disney's Tarzan is a wuss, the only competent thing he did was kill Sabor and that was a fluke.
>>149073365Pocahontas is boring shit. I felt bad for Ratcliffe because in real life he wasn't an evil cunt. Disney did him dirty.
And for what? A bastardized take on American History that pleases no one? Native Americans wouldn't like Disney's Pochontas because they made her older to ship her with the incorrect man and most people did NOT see Pocahontas 2. And the story of Pocahontas is a bitter reminder that Native Americans got crushed.
But in Disney's versions they don't show the Europeans and Spaniards doing anything so Disney's Pocahontas is a whole lot of nothing.
>>149073844Doug movie is the worst one. It wasn't even intended to be theatrical
>>149073883Tarzan is ok I think, it's just as you said, kinda unimpressive. I feel like they spent so much time and investment on all his vine skating but I always thought that shit was dumb.
