At this point, you can't be a "good person" to the QC cast without being a wannabe revolutionary who's afraid of fighting.

This kinda makes me think of how predatory John Deere is with their shit and makes me wonder if corps making robot bodies would do the same, along with terrible planned obsolescence.

I mean, I'm not really sure if Ahn's dad is malicious, or if his company just makes China tier bullshit that's super cheap mass produced shit to fill that market niche.

The problem with these kinds of assumptions is that robots should logically be able to rapidly accrue money due to their lack of needs, and as such would be able to quickly replace bodies or parts therein with better ones.

Have we seen a rich robot who changes bodies as often as regular people change their underwear?
Or do all the robots have to be stand-ins for oppressed minorities, and as innocent smol beans they could never participate in exploitative capitalist systems.

the system makes no sense at all. "oh people can be poor but also we just generate new robot people for no reason to take up jobs and resources"

luxury, corpo interests, government corruption, accounting mistakes, sure, these are all reasons why money is poorly distributed, but they're reasons. if the ai had an initial purpose, that would make sense too. but there are just ai being made with no reason -why- they're being made, not even drunken unprotected sex. what is the incentive? who has the money?

or is jeph secretly aware of how bullshit this is, and knows his characters are too chickenshit to ask questions that might offend people?

They should also inherently be good with budgeting unless they're all just advanced chatbots.

I think one of the guys who made Blade Runner (the original) said that the question is always more interesting than the answer unless you're solving a murder mystery. In this case, the question "Why are robots being mass produced?" would immediately make all their struggles less applicable to IRL social justice retards.

I assume that Bubbles, at least, was originally made by the military - who I would assume even in Jeph Jackoff's milquetoast Seattle libshit America still has fuck off huge amounts of money to throw around - with the purpose of doing military shit to the extent ais can be used militarily in that world.

Ironically Blade Runner does answer that question, replicants are slave labor primarily used for high-risk occupations and prostitution.

>>149079451
The real answer is that despite pretending otherwise QC runs on Futurama rules where robots are just funny looking people. But this line of questioning reminds me of Detroit: Become Human where one of the endings has the political demands of the robots be complete control over their production and full legal/civil rights, and completely ignores the implication that it would mean the robots could literally manufacture votes.

Someone needs to sit Jeph down and tell him it's okay to have more money than the rest of his peers.

>Blade Runner does answer that question
I think their context was "Is the MC a replicant?" But it can be applied to a lot of plot questions, including necessary worldbuilding. The closest character-centric analog I can think of is Bubbles's memories of being a soldier, which I presume Jeph erased to absolve her of guilt or whatever.
>it's okay to have more money than the rest of his peers
But that would mean it's okay for other people to have even more money than him, which would fry his brain.

I don't think it works in Bubbles' case, as she, and the audience, knows the overall implications but is lacking in the specific details. The memories don't have to be present for them to carry out their narrative function; it's just trivia unless Jeph tries to spin a plot out of their content.
