Both were good. Like how this show shows the awkwardness of Jack being there, but the acceptance of him being there at the same time. Like the first episode, it's nice see the grandma likes him carries on. Like how this show is proving to not be a rag on the boy show. The other one was fun to see Lily be unhinged, and it's was a nice touch that the reviewing woman was just some nice Christian lady and not a bitch. "Woori World" was pretty crazy to watch.

When the local Asian supermarket Woori World announces a shipment of Jeju Island's rare Hallasand cookies, Jack joins the rest of the Wylde-Pak family in the battle Royale.

Perhaps it got a bit too surreal for my tastes, even with such wild, consumer-driven mayhem, like with the trio of Korean grandmothers turning into a blob (it should have been imaginary for me). Nonetheless, we do get some insights into the wider community. Stuff like the family having rivals and Min having an ex was pretty interesting to hear. Jean Yoon once again is so sublime. I also liked the *Superman* theme pastiche in the soundtrack, which was nice to hear.

Overall, it was alright. I give it an 8/10.

"Finding FlamingoFan85" was pretty fun.

After the Wylde-Pak Groom & Board receives a 3-star review, Lily becomes driven to look for the reviewer, FlamingoFan85, for an explanation.

It felt like an episode of *Seinfeld* with Lily's actions recalling George. Seeing Lily act all crazy made her very endearing, while Jack got to once again play the voice of reason as the older brother and make for a nice contrast. Stuff like the *Law & Order* sting pastiche and the pet owners resembling their pets were hilarious. The conclusion seemed pretty fitting, but I'd rather not say anything else except that it really shows a more subdued surrealism that feels striking.

Overall, this was a nice laugh. I give it a 10/10.

I'm only just now watching the show but in just one half-hour episode, this girl has already:

1.) taken a hot shit and commented out loud on it
2.) put literal sewer water in her mouth to taste it
3.) threw up on the side of the road (with the puke being visible as well, unlike some cartoons that hide it)

I don't bring this up in a fetishy kind of way, but I'm genuinely happy/impressed that this cartoon is letting their girl characters also have gross moments for comedy, while not making it their whole fucking identity. Lily has a cute design/voice and does girly things, but she's still allowed to fart and throw up.

The only other kids cartoon I've seen have this is Mighty B, and from what I remember, that show was trying to be more disgusting up-front. Are there some other examples or is humor like this extremely rare for girls still?

Anon, the golden age of dubbing ended like a decade ago. Compared to modern mexican dubs, colombian dubs at least try to cast outside the same 5 big nepo families + Goku. The youngest mexican VAs barely even try to hide their accents anymore and still sound wooden as fuck with no range. The scripts are stuffed with forced mexican memes that’ll be cringe in two years. And to top it off (and imho it's worst sin), the audio mixing is atrocious. It forces people to put subs on to understand what is going on defeating the point of watching something dubbed in the first place.
I'm not implying colombian dubs are masterpieces, but as more mexican veterans retire/pass away the quality gap gets smaller and the bias becomes more obvious.
The only company that still consistently puts out good dubs is Disney, funnily enough, because they don’t ruin their dubs with YouTubers and TikTokers.

Yeah, it was probably a small sacrifice to keep the episode more focused, but I still wished it was handled differently to be slightly more organic. As nitpicky as that sounds. Comedy and simplicity should take the focus in a kids show like this, imo, and I think this show is definitely delivering on the comedy and snappy timing. It's made me laugh several times with its writing and exaggerated faces/animation style already.

But another reason why I like this show is because it's clearly trying to have some "heart" in its writing, which is showcased really well right from the first episode. How Jack really idolizes his biological mom, how Lily and Jack don't act close at first since they still don't know each other that well, how Lily's parents are well-meaning but are actually pretty careless and flawed, etc.. I'm actually enjoying the entire Wylde Pak family and how they all get multiple interactions with each other on average. I guess I was just hoping to see that get extended to the side characters as soon as we were introduced to them, but we might have to wait and see how much screen time they get.

Jack is more adventurous than I thought he would be, the promo has a moment that maybe think he would be one of those overly cautious characters, but he's not. He's smart and confident without feeling arrogant. He can be be goofy in his own way too. He's not whiny and dramatic. Lily is pretty wild but also has a sense of grounding and does like to think out things and plan. I like that there's no dumb one smart one, or that Jack has to be her minder or that she has to be the better one at things than him and straight laced they balance each other out well.

Anyway, here's another review.

I got to watch the latest episode earlier this week.

"Just a Little Pipe Problem" was a fun episode.

The kids have been slacking off lately, causing their parents to miss a letter regarding a business inspection of the Groom & Board on the day itself. A mishap involving the trailer's sink forces Jack and Min to find a replacement pipe, only to encounter the inspector, and they race to get the pipe to Will and Lily.

We get to see the interactions between the parents and kids, particularly Jack and Min. You can see how Min demonstrates her cunning, complementing Jack's can-do attitude. We don't get to see much of Will and Lily, but they're definitely more alike. The plot was pretty fun, with the inspector being a powerful presence with a monotonous voice. Stuff like the hardware store and Min and Jack's race back home gives us plenty of call-backs to the different locations in Canyon Valley, which was pretty wild.

It was a fun episode in the end. I give it a 9/10.

This was surprisingly emotional, as we find that Chuck is actually serious about saving the theater, and Jack and Lily decide to take it seriously—a little too serious for Chuck, who was terrorized by a perfectionist acting coach to the point of despair. It actually reminded me of the bandshell episode of 'The Ghost and Molly McGee', with the social sensibility of 'Craig of the Creek' through Chuck's play-based approach to "Thetre Camp". It sounds radical, but it makes sense for a civic-minded project of the arts.Chuck gets some very fine depth as a result, with things like how he has a Steve Buscemi-like friend, Dirk, who gets some comedy in the first half.

A couple of nitpicks: first off, I think Lily and Jack could have interacted with the other theater kids. It could have shown us more of the town's kids, like what 'Craig of the Creek' did with the Creek kids. Second was the ending. I won't say what it is, but I thought it was kind of stupid.

Overall, this was an interesting episode. I would give it a 9.5/10.

Lily's eccentric neighbor Ellie recruits Jack to her Raven Club to sneak into Mrs. Withers' creepy house across the street. The next day, he sends a drone in, but loses it. When Jack heads to retrieve it and doesn't come out, Lily is forced to accompany Ellie to save him.

I like that the episode gave Lily more character dynamics through Ellie. She reminds me of Andromeda from *Big City Greens* with her conspiratorial mindset.


I thought the previous episode missed an opportunity to have Lily interact with other kids besides her half-brother, so seeing this episode do it really gives the setting more depth. The plot was pretty fun, with two girls running through a creepy house. I don't know if it's something you see every day, but stuff like the backgrounds gave a really creepy vibe that really elevated the episode. The twist was executed quite appropriately, with ample misdirection that lets you keep guessing with a good payoff.

I would love to see more episodes like this. I give it a 10/10.

I don't know if it's something you see every day, but stuff like the backgrounds gave a really creepy vibe that really elevated the episode. The twist was executed quite appropriately, with ample misdirection that lets you keep guessing with a good payoff.

I would love to see more episodes like this. I give it a 10/10.

"Left Holding the Bag" was a fun episode.

After listening to the 'Master Criminal' true crime podcast, the kids desire to become one, and end up asking Chuck to help with his "dirty laundry". However, they soon end up afraid of getting in over their heads.

Is it just me, or was the twist more easily telegraphed than in "The Three Ravens"? I doubt Chuck has it in him to be a criminal—he seems to be a slacker with a suspicious manner of speech. And was this episode supposed to go before "Camp Chuck"? It seems like this was supposed to be Dirk's introduction.

Otherwise, I do think it's a nice ribbing on true crime podcasts, because I suspect that some people might take "inspiration" from them. By that, I mean that they'll use it as a template of crime (which probably fits the zeitgeist).

We also get a surprise appearance from Ellie, and so soon after, too. She's pretty interesting, and her mother's appearance was a hilarious punchline to boot. Jean Yoon once again steals the show in her single scene, where she sternly warns the kids against becoming criminals due to apparent experience. Using the stern Asian grandmother thing to insinuate that she was a third was hilariously out of left field.

It's stuff like this that really makes this a really fun one, but I do think it could have added a bit more misdirection with Chuck's plot.
