First, nothing will happen for a while. Then, animation costs will go down a lot as AI tools make it much cheaper and faster. Then, eventually, AI will surpass human ability at animation, and the industry will collapse and we'll all look back with fondness at the age where everyone was watching the same cartoons. Then eventually AI will surpass humans at everything else and we will go extinct or be hyperdomesticated into perfect immortal consumers who each spend 24 hours a day watching a unique cartoon generated on the fly to be maximally entertaining to us at that specific moment.

Reminder that the people who champion the use of AI are shills for a certain religious group. Why? Because they want you to use AI so that the companies that make the AI can use what you use to train theirs better so they can use an in-house (aka non-public) to fire human people from their jobs and replace with AI. The ultimate irony of this is that you have unironic shills of AI say shit like
>We're COOKING Hollyjews with this bros, AI has 'democratized' Art! Take that Jews!
Ignoring that 1. The 'good' AI costs, guess which religious group is getting that money? 2. You're just training their AI so they can make more money.

You think AI will get rid of woke DEI Hollywood crap but it won't, all it'll do is make Mr Shekelsberg save $15m on hiring actual humans to do various things. What, you think that $15m will go to making the writing better or whatever? Hahahahaha.

So I'm torn between people who shill AI are actually shills for the big certain religious run companies, are gullible idiots or are just based accelerationists who understand that all they're doing is helping Jews and the 1% make more money and cut even more of the human element out of art. At least I can understand that. I can't understand the gullible idiots who think that AI is the way to beat 'The Jew'.

The retarded will use it like an animation team and churn out slop.

It will become watchable soon and I say that as someone who does not support ai in entertainment. On it's own as a gimmick, where everyone is aware it's ai is fine. The entertainment industry using ai is not fine.
But people who seethe or are still making these same old le basic ai criticisms like >>149095542 are coping and in a few years ai will look completely watchable and most people who aren't artists wont care.

>paying for ai
I mean this probably isn't the thread but I would never pay a dime for AI but I also would never pay an artist. I feel like a lot of artists (and AI companies) just want to make money and the only reason they need to make money is because things like UBI are foreign concepts to the empires they live under. I think that if humanity can't free itself of currency based motivations then fusion energy will be meaningless and sold to you at top dollar. What the fuck would we even need money for if we can change atoms into gold with limitless energy. Again it'll probably just be privatized and the only way to avoid it is to stop paying for it instead of putting up with this fake ass inflation shit. I won't pay Jack in the Box $8 for an ultimate breakfast sandwich out of principle and I'm not paying for AI or artist commissions out of the same principle. Money is for domesticated tools of the state

I say this as someone that's against this shit, this is a cope. Same as the incoherent images and lack of understanding fingers that people brought up 3 - 4 years ago with still images. Treating this technology as having maxed out is naive, there's really no indicator we're close to hitting the ceiling yet.

And that's terrifying because it's legitimately just going to churn out ridiculous amounts of slop soon. Like this shit could produce more media in a year than all of human history combined if it really gets good at it, it doesn't need to rest or sleep and can generate images far faster than a human can possibly create them. It has the potential to actually completely drown out the internet and make it impossible to find relevant information or anything actually produced by a human. We should be trying to figure out ways to work around this rather than burying our collective head in the sand and hoping it hits a wall before it gets that bad.

Granted, AI/CGI will make it faster, maybe easier, for western markets, but 'traditional'/hand-drawn animation won't fade away completely. Eastern/Asian animation industries will maintain a balance, mostly for demand as some studios will see how much cheaper the overseas animation studios make their products, while western studios will says 'CGI is faster & cheaper! and prove to break even. Programmers, graphics artists and actual talents will demand better pay as more animation companies outsource.

It will be like the DJ market currently; Most professional party DJs are costly, but they do have pro equipment, and some will just walk in with an iPhone & a playlist, plug it into a sound system & walk away.

Fucking retard. The AI isn't being produced by 'le based trad christian whites' it is being made by mega corps ran by Jews. So when you type 'Make a cartoon on the ancient Egyptians' you're going to get blacks galore because the AI is going to be fed that as 'fact'. Unless you're making the AI yourself, you're not going to avoid 'woke DEI' shit.

The same way computers replaced a lot of processes and jobs from the animation pipeline I think AI will also replace some elements from it.

How much is yet to see, so Far the problem with AI is that its very inconsistent one shot is going to look different that the one right before and right after. Also while the AI has a genral idea of how a thing moves doesn't mean it looks good, sometimes it just deforms mid movement.

Do I think this is going to get streamline in the near future? yes but exactly how the animation process is going to be is anyone guess.

I'm literally against AI you fucking retard, that's the entire point of my post. This shit is terrible and the people saying that "Oh it can only produce 5 seconds, don't worry" strike me as the character in a monster movie that refuses to acknowledge that there's a monster until it's right in front of them and gores them. I want this shit to STOP and hand waving away the potential place this shit could be in 5 years is not going to help stop it. I don't want to wake up one day and only have a bunch of AI generated videos to view because they've completely drowned out human works. I don't want to see articles written by AI referencing AI images and videos telling total fabrications because the machines just churn that shit out. We need to figure out ways to work around this shit.

It's the pointing out obvious flaws that I'm referring to as if it's an epic win. Like when it was all about pointing out how the hands are off back when ai was much newer and now ai gets hands and feet pretty much fine now.
It's just little nitpick copes that cope with the inevitable course ai is going and in a few years or sooner ai vids like the op will be able to zoom in on a scene and it'll have no mistakes like the op vid.

What people currently call "AI" isn't even AI. It just stores and regurgitates things. And it can only regurgitate things well if it's ripping something off really closely. This sort of "AI" will never be good and if we invent the real AI, we'll have other problems than "AI" slop.

Why are the only demonstrations of AI applied to animation so far all really shitty attempts at total replacement? All I ever hear from programmers and animators alike who say that AI could actually be a useful tool is that it's best applications would be for shit like interpolation between keyframes or cleanup work or tedious shit, but people never actually attempt to use it for that, they just keep trying to force it to replace every part of the process and it always spits out crap.

Because none of that is flashy. One of the single biggest uses for AI right now that companies are actually using and actually replacing workers with is coding. But coding isn't flashy, coding just looks like long strings of words and numbers. A moving image though? That's how you capture retards on the internet.

They exist and are one of the biggest things people are working on behind the scenes... but they are very much *behind the scenes*, as in proprietary shit that nobody's making public. I can say with certainty that Disney at least is sinking billions into models that can turn storyboards into keyframes and keyframes into clean animation because it would basically open the door to them bringing back legacy-style 2D animation, but at a fraction of the cost and production time. Disney's got trillions of examples of training data in its warehouses; used and unused character art, background paintings, billions of original storyboards, keyframes, in-betweens, cleanup art, and finished frames.

Like >>149097008 said, it's not flashy, but it is far and away where most of the work towards replacing parts of the work process is actually going into - stuff that dramatically streamlines the trip from A to B to C to D rather than trying to brute force A to D entirely.

We started out with American animators turning a million dollars into 200 million back when that was the federal government's entire annual budget, and then we started outsourcing to China and Korea and Japan with every show getting 52 episodes a year and every movie earning 30x what they spent making it, and now we're breaking even hiring Filipinos to puppet rig 8 episodes every 3 years, so in the future the industry will be deep in the red hiring Indonesians to AI generate one episode per decade
