With Book 3 brought down severely by the disaster that is Sozin's Comet. We're all in agreement by now that Sozin's Comet sucked, right? I think that's a /co/nsensus we've all come to over the years.

I think it's going to try an ape Bluey a bit, focused on young parents and little children together, given the two main characters.
I think it has the potential to be better than Korra. The premise is a lot better and should allow for more whimsy and adventure.
Also I feel relatively confident that in this show the apocalypse will be used as an allegory for climate change, and Korra will take the place of previous generations, baby boomers specifically, who failed to address it in past decades. Also I imagine the Avatar world will be mostly put back together by the end of the show.

I expect it to be decent, but not great. A good step better than Korra, a good bit worse than ATLA.
The show supposedly being aimed younger is a benefit, Bryke are not as good at aiming toward the older crowd based on Korra.
The age of the main character probably means we dodge ill-conceived love triangles.

From the description we got from the leaks, the twin is bratty, smug yet insecure. Pavi is supposedly the gentle and mild one.

On that I’d have to disagree. Each nation is linked to an aesthetic. I think it’s important to retain that in some way no matter what happens. I don’t sense even a little bit of any nation in their clothing beyond colours and what I assume are pathetic excuses for arrows on the dude’s chest and shoulders. Nothing about these people screams “Avatar” to me, at least you could tell Korra was Water Tribe from a glance. They’re simply too far divorced from established designs.

They do have their own aesthetics, yes, but I was just pointing out that modernity has shrunk or eliminated a lot of that distinction in the real world. Japanese people, Chinese people and English people don't dress particularly differently, and none of them dress like meiji-era Japanese or Chinese.
That said, is this even a universal aesthetic or is it supposed to be a 'nation' look? I'd find that harder to believe than everyone looking like temu star wars thanks to fantasy multinational brands.

It was okay and I've learned to live with it - the good and the bad. I think everyone's at least in agreement that it could have been done better.
