For something like this to be poorly aged, it needs to have some sort of irony relating to the person involved. Just having someone who's somewhat controversial playing a roll doesn't count.
Justin Roiland in the King Jellybean episode of Rick and Morty actually is poorly aged.

Disney put Miranda Sings (aka Colleen Ballinger) in as a cameo in 2018's Ralph Breaks the Internet because she was a recognisable Youtuber at the time.

In 2020, she is getting cancelled for sliding into the DMs of underaged boys and for being a shitty boss, and then sped up the cancellation process because she thought the best way for it to blow over would be to get out her ukulele and sing a song about grooming boys, which went over like a lead balloon and got more people to notice the drama against her.

Mel Gibson's episode in the Simpsons is one i'm conflicted.
Them treating Mel as an extremely nice guy and everyone talking about how great of a guy he is, is really bizarre. But the episode has alot of funny jokes.

I especially find that one joke with Robert Downey Jr. to sum it up perfectly.

Honest question,
Almost every IHF issue has a โ€œMore by Skottie Youngโ€ section, and every single one up to the end of the second run had a Gaiman quote praising the series.
Has that quote been removed from recent issues like the recent FCBD issue or the just started third run?

Im still amazed how out of touch rich people can be. Apology videos have a very very small chance of actually fixing anything and a very very big chance of making everything worse, and she decides to take it to a whole other level and do a sing along about how she definitely doesn't diddle kids.
And yeah I would never have even known about or given a shit about her entire situation if she didn't release that video. Genuine career suicide and im sure her agent/lawyers were quickly looking for a way out of their contracts.

It's funny how being a kid I thought he was a fake villain, playing up his evil "bad boss" bit for the narrative and for the camera, but in reality that was more real than the drama. How he treats people, how he treats his workers, it's like there's a collective shrug of "well what are you going to do" that ignores regulations and options to reign in people like him.

he sells poor quality products to children by telling them that there might be a wad of cash inside the box.

Basically all of his money comes from selling gambling to kids in a way that wouldn't be acceptable IRL or on cable TV but youtube allows.

He's not the only youtuber to do this but he is the biggest.

The apology matched her irreverent ukulele quirky songstress persona/career. It was out of touch, incredibly stupid, but it isnโ€™t as funny as a spontaneous bit she just thought was a good idea to get people on her side, it was similar to other videos she did, this time with no so much an apology as a "people say a lot of things" kind of dismissal of the worst implications without ever being clear what those are.

We are so fucked up as a society when selling gambling and lies to children is just seen as "cringy."
He's literally the inverse of a Mr. Rogers type. Mr Rogers advocated for the emotional well-being of kids, Mr. Beast convinces them to associate their self-esteem with gambling and eating doordash cheeseburgers.
I genuinely think society would be better off if people like Mr. Beast were arrested. His content is appalling.

There's a long list of people we don't lock up that we should before we get to Mr. Beast, but yes, creating a system of funding solutions and charity through consumption and ads puts a small bandaid on the mangled limb, hoping you see that as a solution. His content helps people and I appreciate that, but turning that help into content is ghoulish and predatory. He twitted once before about how the surgeries he provided to help the blind weren't that expensive and questioned why governments can't do what he does. That was good.

Rich people are too used to the rules not applying to them, so they eventually set their sights on children.
As much as people don't care about and handwave things, at the very least the people care about the "concept" of children being hurt, so very few can get away with pedo allegations. they don't actually care about about children getting hurt, it's mainly virtue signaling but that discussion is for another day

Like you said Mr. Rogers advocated for the emotional well-being of kids and just to be happy, where Mr. Beast advocates for money and success at any cost. That's a good point. Sure, game shows have been family friendly and included cash prizes, but there's removal of the mechanics of that money, where it comes from. The money isn't from production budget granted through sponsors then earned by contestants. Doing something cool because it looks fun or aligns with their interests falls to the wayside of doing what looks like fun and seems to make a lot of money.

The thing with vince is that he operated very very closely to how big narcos have done and still do
He could be very cruel and capricious to people, and he often was, but, those he chose to respect (often very arbitrary, there's accounts of him liking people standing up to him but also getting back at others for the same) he treated quite well. He fostered a very strong cult of personality essentially, and those he made are still extremely loyal like cena and reigns very notably refuse to bad mouth him cause he backed them as much as he did. And they are noted cases where he like paid for people's treatments and shit, he did genuinely good things. It's stuff like that that kept many fans big on him even as the years went on and he did more and more shitty things.
The most recent scandal is different though, what with the sexual abuse and literal shitting on people claims, and we've probably all seen the indian-tier posts he sent her. Even then, many of his former colleagues stand by him just cause he treated them well.
I don't really blame them kinda in the same way it's understandable that a serial killer's child still loves them, but some a bit too vociferous in their support.

>Microsoft is cutting thousands of jobs right now while investing billions into AI.
I generally agree with your point, but MS cutting jobs is a bit more nuanced than that. They're cutting jobs primarily because a major tax break got upended, which means that the current tech economy is no longer sustainable.

https://qz.com/tech-layoffs-tax-code-trump-section-174-microsoft-meta-1851783502

Note how these companies went all on on AI garbage, the exact same year said tax break expired.

AI sucks, everyone knows it sucks, but to corporations its primarily a smokescreen to cover their asses. It's not that it's a legitimate threat, but a massive scapegoat to keep investors and the average person from looking further than the surface level, and realizing that the tech industry as a whole is going through a death spiral.

somewhat related but the reason you see this flung around more is that with most things under the sun getting accepted pedos are about the last universally accepted target for rage and feelings of revenge and justice; even your average murderer gets a lot of leeway and understanding in the court of public opinion, so voicing disdain for the average killer is frowned upon
however, people from nearly all walks of life have a strong intrinsic dislike of pedos, so it's easy and accepted to post about your wish of death upon them pretty much anywhere
reminder that quite recently a rapper got the backing of the entire entertainment industry solely because he called his opponent a pedo in a catchy song

It's the same year Trump and Vance got elected and Vance represents silicone valley and tech industry investments as well as finance. Maybe it's him, maybe it's the 13 billionaires are Trump's cabinet (Obama had 1, Biden had 0), but they just protected AI for 10 years. Regulations can't be made on them for 10 years. That's likely behind the bigger AI push. It's a freeding frenzy to find that rock bottom, to see how much cannibalization is possible, before regulation kicks in. If it kicks in.

Just gotta blogpost for a second:
>love cameras and film stuff
>always thought dark rooms are cool as shit
>see my school has a photography class w/ an actual dark room and manually developing film
>sign right the fuck up
>the EXACT semester I join, the school changed the class to digital cameras since that's becoming more of a "thing", and it's cheaper than buying all that film and developing supplies
>the teacher knows jack shit about digital cameras, so we're told just to use auto mode and take pictures based entirely on nothing, just whatever we feel looks "artistic"
>never get to go into the dark room
>never get to use that cool rotating blackout dark room door
>spend the entire semester just learning the Rule of Thirds and do some zero-effort one-click photo editing on PC
>learn literally nothing
>the digital cameras were cheap shit too, didn't even have external lenses like the old cameras we couldn't use
Still mad.

>get into computer class in HS
>learn how to code in Flash and HTML
>raw HTML quickly gets replaced by the internet filling up with a gazillion easy tools and generators, and nobody codes HTML from scratch unless they're stupid
>Flash hits end of service and dies a slow death
Still mad.

Also:
>spend several years getting trained to repair computers inside and out
>software, hardware, soldering, etc.
>graduate right as smartphones explode, desktop PCs get tossed, and the entire tech market moves entirely to "if it's slow, just replace it", thanks to Apple
>literally 100% of every job I was eyeing disappeared, zero openings anywhere unless you've got a long history in sales and upselling
>most tech stores also start collapsing as the entire concept of repairing your shit dries up
>the few tech stores left just sell random electronics now and just hire normalfags
>only tech jobs left are long-term with slow turnover rates
Still mad.

Technology evolves, people get screwed, life goes on.

Everybody likes to claim they always knew he was a creep now but hindsight is 20/20, before he died most people just saw him as a likeable eccentric. I lived in West Yorkshire and he was pretty much a local hero, a working class northern lad done good. You should see the turnout for his funeral, it was like second only to royalty. There were rumours of course, but there are about a lot of celebs. I don't think there was even as much rumour about Jimmy then as there is about Dan Schneider now.

Kids today don't want to get "Real jobs" anymore because they don't feel the incentive to do so.
To be a Youtuber today is to do stupid shit like Gambling, pestering people irl, stream games or make the most unfunniest barebone skits possible with generic sound effects and royalty free music in the background and you can potentially make millions off of it. For kids today why bother even finishing Highschool when they could more easily do all of that instead. You don't even need real skills or talents for any of that, you just need a camera and eventually enough money to hire an editor

He gave lots to charity, was friendly enough/affable on tv, he was like your odd/eccentric/weirdo relative -lots of people would joke that he was weird or a perv but thats how he sort of slipped by, he seemed so obviously a weirdo that he got away with it

People were literally protecting what he did. People knew and were threatened by the top if they retaliated.
Was similar to what went on at Nick for a long time.

Yeah, that's true, but not his audience of millions of listeners and viewers. They didn't know about that shit. I think the original Anon's question was about Jimmy's popularity, not how he got away with his crimes.
