>Elio (original IP) poorly marketed and will flop
>Lilo and Stitch (remake) overtly marketed will make a billion
>Disney will go full force on remakes now
I hate this timeline so much...

Anon, why are you sad? This horrible industry must collapse, it's completely bad. Stick to old, obscure, and some indie things. Everything will be O K

> Disney will go full force on remakes now

What's next? Atlantis maybe? I actually like that idea the most as it works the best since all of the important characters and humans. The first movie didn't even focus that much on the city of Atlantis and spent too much time on the journey to get there.

It doesn't even have to use that much CGI other than the submarine scenes. They can even use real life Greek and Roman ruins for the city of Atlantis.

Call me when they make another original movie on the same level of quality as their earlier films and then I'll give a shit.

Didn't snow white flop though? How does that work out when one live action remake flopped and the other succeeds?

Disney would probably love to fold Pixar and assimilate them into WDA

>remaking a flawed movie with room for improvement
It's funny that Disney's current live action streak started this way by remaking The Jungle Book and it ended up being by far the least objectionable remake, then everything after that was "hey let's remake these beloved and near-flawless classics that would be almost impossible to even come close to matching let alone exceed."

Although I really like the original Jungle Book, it was kind of a mess, and the low budget really showed with recycling the Kaa scene and Bambi's mother.

Atlantis seems like something that a live action movie can actually improve upon. I'd actually be MORE invested in the characters if they were live action people. You can easily just get some Italian guy to play Vinnie and some Hispanic girl to play Audrey. You don't even need to do any race-swaps, since the Atlanis crew is already multi-cultural.

The original movie barely showed us the city of Atlantis. We only got 3 scenes. The palace dinner scene, the market scene, and the swimming scene. That's really it. A live action movie could really expand the city.

So at the rate we're going, how long have they got before they run out of films to remake except for Song of the South?

Except Disney DID do a race swap. The citizens of Atlantis are a bunch of shit skin niggers. Seriously given where the the myth of Atlantis is situated they would not be dark skin anything.

Typical Leftists and I hate how many bastard cunts say "You're just racist for not accepting shit skins!" Fuck you.

Plato wrote about Atlantis in 360 BC. The Atlanteans had over 2300 years to evolve during that time. There was probably some type of sun there that caused them to have darker skin and turned their hair white.

It's not. It's a Lilo & Stitch ripoff, released a month after Lilo & Stitch remake, by the same evil corpo. Elio's failure is by design, or the people in charge are complete and utter retards.

Also, the very soul of the movie was fully subverted. They'll go all in on that, too.

Expect some kind of Beauty and the Beast remake where Belle ends up with Gaston or something.

>the very soul of the movie was fully subverted
Nothing new. Half of the live action remakes are about turning a female villain into a tragically misunderstood hero, the other half are "this thing from your childhood, but shitty, gay, and brown." The surprising part is where they did the exact opposite by toning down the crossdressing gay alien and turning the other gay alien into a fullblown villain. But that's mostly because of budget issues I guess.

>Beauty and the Beast remake
It already exists.

Well Anon maybe don't pay for woke slop and they might make something original and good, but you guys bought into the grift so much that Disney has to rely on remakes and reboots because they're too scared to make anything original because both sides are at their throats.

They're taking the safer approach to save money.
Y'all should have called them out for the woke shit years ago, but you didn't and now all we're getting is remakes and reboots for the next 10 years.
Remember!
This is the future you created, so don't act shocked when they don't wanna pander to either side and just wanna pander to normies.

Fuck that, the changed ending completely undermines the entire goddamned point of the story.

That being said - yes, Disney really ought to be remaking its shittier movies and flops. Get some actually talented people working on Atlantis, or Treasure Planet, or Black Cauldron.

If you’re given the choice between barely edible slop and inedible gristle and you choose the barely edible slop, it doesn’t mean the barely edible slop is actually delicious and people love it. Disney has been making garbage for decades and mostly getting by on what little name and brand recognition the studio still has.

Anon, I guarantee you that most audiences knew nothing about Zegler, her talking about Palestine or whatever didn't really affect anything because most people aren't like us and don't pay attention to these things. Tons of actors get involved in political stuff all the time without it really affecting anything.
The movie flopped because it was bad, looked ugly, and you might as well just wait for it to be on Disney+ even if you do want to watch it.

According to Wikipedia, Disney is currently confirmed to be working on remakes of Moana, the Artistocats, Hercules, and Bambi.
Moana and Hercules will probably do well (especially since Moana had The Rock), but I don't think there will be much interest in Bambi or the Arsitocats.
