The show runner or the writers were unrelenting movie buffs. Almost every episode title and plot was a reference. Apocalypse Now, Silent Running, Surf Ninjas Must Die, The Man Who Knew too Much, Grapes of Wrath, The Maltese Falcon, Alien, Clockwork Orange, Plan 9 from Outer Space, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Repo Man, fucking Lawnmower Man.
