I'm torn between appreciating that they're sentimental about their craft and work, and being agitated because of how emotionally manipulative it is and that they've done it multiple times even. Like I'm not going to go as far as to call them pussies like other people but it does just leave a mixed taste that leans towards sour. Even as someone who empathizes a bit too hard for others, I could recognize the annoying side of this just from seeing the OP video, and it gets to the point where I have to even wonder if it's sincere or just manipulation.

I usually hate how quick people are to say anything/anyone sad is intentionally manipulative (a good example of this modern trend is Rick and Morty, where they act like Jerry being sad for normal ass reasons is him being a slug intentionally wanting to drag people down to his level and then they make him say it's true??) but doing this multiple times feels weird. We're also in a time where people like Steven Universe crew try to rally fans to convince networks to let them continue the show even though it ran for a lot of seasons, got a movie, and a timeskip spinoff. And it worked, now they get a spinoff for Prime. What I mean is, people these days really try to push sentimentality for their own gain and cry a lot online for what is essentially brute-forced sympathy. I don't know the people involved with this but it's hard not to clump them in with everything else these days just by nature. Funny little Minions-mumbling guy crying in his bed and saying "i'm ok... i'm ok..." feels exactly like one of those things, and I hate that I can't discern manipulation from sincerity anymore.

Animation circle's are a clique. Chances are, if you have a show, you're in that clique and the clique's full of awful, petty bastards. If you get a show, they expect you to invite them on to work on it. If you lose a show, they expect you to take it graciously and step aside for someone else. If you make too much noise or get too many fans on your side, it becomes a power struggle of popularity and that gets you kicked out of the animation world.

There's a plenty of LGBT people in kids cartoons. One of the most quietly pozzed shows of recent years was the Strawberry Shortcake revival (heavily black/brown washed, the only notable white male characters are evil, gay characters, multiple actual trannies in the show) which was created by a gay man.
