I really thought the premise of this episode was going to be Rick's mundane action of turning himself into a pickle turns into a Cast Away-esque absurdist survivalist story. We would slowly see him fending off critters with no limbs, gain function one bit at a time, try to find food, try to overcome elements or obstacles (like a flooding sewer or whatever), and then have this big surreal twist like there's a whole rat people society in the sewers that he has to defeat.

Instead, it wastes time with the therapist B-plot, it has a massive time jump where we just skip over 90% of the interesting survival aspect, and the compound siege just feels like a sudden tangent rather than a slow descent into madness.

They could've done way better with this episode. Just fuck right off with the therapist nonsense and have Rick go through all this to avoid a fucking family picnic or something even more miniscule than that.

I still never caught up to it after rick gets arrested. I saw the trailer for pickle rick and realized I dont need to watch it anymore. I liked it but could tell they were getting antagonistic to their own fame and their audience. when we get into adult swim levels of self-referential, ironic shitposting and extreme stupidity I start to check out.

Because therapy is fucking useless. If you have even the slightest capacity for introspection and an iq above 90 you, as a man, get fucking nothing out of therapy. Having some dipshit go over your issues with you and taking in a hundred dollars or more per hours is worthless, it is basically just a paid form of non comittal "firendship" with a stranger.

I for example, know full well why I am a depressed mental wreck, and there is zero new insights or ways of dealing with my issues that therapy revealed to me, if anything it just made me loathe therapists and their midwit bs.
