One of the main plot point it that, you see, the boy is NOT a dragon rider. And he lies about it. Autists will REEEE that the movie DARES to make fun of the original, serious, legendary dragon rider movie. Which is HTTYD. I don't give a crap, I thought it was funny.

The main villain is a metal dragon created by a wizard. Yes.

And, yes, without a doubt, Sorrel is precious.

As are her people. I will hug each one (if they let me).

The Genie was incredibly disappointing.
He's described as enormous and covered thousands of eyes in the book.

The two are VERY different. Know how "How To Train Your Dragon" book was a very short one, and a non-serious thing for little children, and the movie is more serious, and more mature? Yeah, Dragon Rider the books are reasonably serious, while the movie is much more of a comedy with some good action in places. Book and movie are very different. Also the book is a longer story.
