It is certainly much more convenient, but things getting more convenient for the consumer not always translates to something necessarily good for the creator of the content.

This applies to any product: Movies, cartoons, and even art in general, now with AI 'art' and all. The general public will almost always go for whatever is most convenient for them.

Same. Fansubs are often translated better and with more care. Official subs often don't even translate the lyrics, while some fansubs even make it karaoke style, I admire the dedication

Streaming is a way more predatory industry than I hear people mention. It's like a devils contract where they'll keep charging you for months and months unless you go out of your way to cancel your subscription. And it can be really tedious to try and break free from the chains they put you in.
At least it's not as bad as the gaming industry with something like PlayStation Plus.

Streaming only became mainstream after they realized people want to watch movies on the internet. Netflix was fine back in 2015 but it has now lost their cash cows (squidward games was ok tho)

He watches cable TV because the commercials give him time to "decompress" from what he's watching.

It gives the publisher power to change it remove the series whenever they want. And we are already starting to see old shows being edited to remove music tracks they don't want to pay royalties to use.

Despite it's initial benefits, yes. Streaming provides a firsthand look at the choice overload as well as the problem that comes from renting your media from a big company. With all the choices in the world you'd think that you'd have a better time picking the right show but that's actually not the case. Give a man the world and he'll search endless trying to find the right series but if you give him a curated selection he can just sit there and watch. More choices =/= inherently more enjoyment just more time wasted waying your options.
It also means that whatever programing is at the whims of exec. Instead of "we own this so it can air on the network whenever" it very much depends on what upper management want on the streaming platform and what they don't. This especially sucks for Cartoons because it's clear people like Zazla don't value animation at all and as a result the actual selection of these shows that they own on their own streaming platform is embarrassing.

The most common version of DBZ in official distribution is based on the dogshit Orange Box DVD release from the 2000s which butchered the picture and sound in ways that boggle the mind.

It ultimately results in shows being treated as passing fads rather than something you grew attached to over time and thus become part of a routine in your house. Shows don't really last anymore in cultural zeitgeist.
