Why does this show keep using the Krusty Krab so many times and constantly just use the same 5 characters most of the time (Sponge, Pat, Squid, Krabs, and Plankton)
>>149151553 (OP) I remember when I was a teen I got annoyed at like Season 5 or 6 using the same "Plankton tried to steal from the Kristy Krab" plot over and over again
>>149151942 There used to be more characters frequently in rotation.

There are so many episodes that take place exclusively in the krusty krab that you could probably watch an entire season worth of spongebob episodes from this POV lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msI5VFPMmSE
>>149151553 (OP) Because it's cheap and easy to use preexisting designs and everyone working on this show just wants to get the episode done so they can get paid. Capitalism, ho!
>>149156815 SpongeBob canonically ends with Bikini Bottom being destroyed by jellyfish and SpongeBob dying alone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVxy7Lu_L_E
>>149151553 (OP) I can tell this pic comes from the pilot, it's got a different aura to it

I always found it kind of weird how during the first couple of seasons, there were episodes about the Krusty Krab struggling to get customers and then the writers abandoned that to make it the most popular fast food establishment in Bikini Bottom.
>>149160659 >the Krusty Krab struggling to get customers That was just the first season, wasn't it? Any other one-off gimmicks they introduced were entirely guided by Krabs's crippling greed
>>149160659 They changed quite a lot of stuff after Season 1, for example in the first season SpongeBob seemed to have somewhat of a crush on Sandy but it's never brought back later on

>>149162281 Hafnim was a group of animation techniques used to influence viewers up until the 80's but it's still partially in effect today. Get educated.
>>149158808 Yes, but it was also a commercial product that had to deliver multiple episodes on a strict schedule. You gotta find shortcuts to make that happen without sacrificing quality, which Hillenburg and his team managed to do just fine.

>>149155463 SpongeBob movie (the first one) is the finale for the series. SpongeBob becomes a man(ager). It's a coming of age film about taking on responsibility while never losing your childhood whimsy. He achieved the tasks king louis c.k had, and beat plankton by being a goofy goober. Any seasons after the movie merely take place before the ultimate conclusion.
>>149165227 >>149166373 the very first episode of SpongeBob is titled "help wanted". You can infer the Krusty Krab wasn't having its grand opening and merely was hiring to replace a position.
>>149167822 But anon said this >Maybe the restaurant's popularity exploded once people realized that the new fry cook was brilliant? Before Spongebob there was someone way better everyone knew by name
>>149158808 it's both partly why spongebob did so well is because it wasn't just about the money, the passion shines through ultimately though, like anything, it is a product made to bring in profit eternally. this is true of any show aired on television passion and profit aren't mutually exclusive, but most of the time shows lean towards the latter
>>149171299 It could've brought in profit eternally WITHOUT releasing new episodes eternally. Merch would've still flown off the shelves even if the show were to *knocks on wood* end.
